Forums - Nintendo - has their been a shift in third party support towards wii and away from HD?

i start to think that Wii is getting too much 3rd party suport lately, and the 3 HVS exclusives recently announced also seem promising!

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

That would be true except that a good game does not equal good production values.

But good games usually have good production values.

Well it had already happened within the Japanese development community and it is happening a bit in the west. But what you won't see are PC developers coming to the wii. They will continue to give the HDs support. The PC developers are the companies that give the "biggest" third-party games, like bioshock and Mass Effect.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

i think that in terms of third party exclusives that wii will ''win'' this year

The studios struggling with HD development can produce far better games on the Wii because much of the issues they have relate to project management rather than being untalented developers. The Wii doesn't require 100+ man productions so the project management issues are mitigated.

Tease.

As in Wii vs. Ps3 vs. 360 or Wii vs. HD?

I don't know how you missed High Voltage :-O

But yeah, no more game droughts for Wii, for sure.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

@ kitchensink

HVS is a developer, plus only on of their titles is set for this year and ive placed it under sega. im not jumping on your bandwagon of treating HVS as a publisher :P

In japan, the wii is getting some major games soon, but I don't see a huge shift anywhere else. I watched a full hour of hd games yesterday on spike, not one wii games was brought up.

Multiplats edge will still go to the HD twins but the wii will win the exclusive war it seems which will help that lofty goal of " sell more than then PS 2".
