Yeah, I want to give the same commands over and over again and maybe use a few potions now and then as well. I mean, we're still pressing buttons too.

Turn-based > New age shit. <3

sigh, its no different with action, same buttons over and over again... i will say i never thought id pine for turn based battles but after my recent run with infinite undiscovered.... i had to go back and play some turn based rpg to make me remember why i liked rpgs....also the writing in that game was horrid goad awful it made me wince .....  and the characters so cardboard ridged and cutout... man i was disappointed.... and if i had actually had more choice in fighting styles it would have been fun, but no always the same thing, or connect and do the same thing, only one way to solve alot of bull puzzles that should not even require a skill or learning something unless the character is mentally retarded ...... though it may just be this game that has made me so angry ..... though mass effect disappointed me too not to the same degree though.

ill play some more IU after my cool off period to see if i can get into it...

damn one more thing, its not like they didnt include original ideas and cool stuff in the game, there is just so much retarded garbage combined with it

thank god i only paid 9 dollars for my new copy of IU

If you're basing you're review of ARPG's off IU its no wonder you're pissed.

Though there are OTHER jrpgs other then IU that are MUCH better then that relic turn-based genre.

have a 360 suggestion? i got IU it was cheap and looked fun im willing to dabble, though i only allow two fails a year for a genre then it takes a break for a year before i buy another from it

Yes, yes i do, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, also a Tri-Ace game, it has many Action JRPG elements though its not 100% AJRPG its close enough to it, i enjoyed it myself, it was FAR better then IU thats for certain, only thing is the Voice Acting for SO4 is kinda crap and anime cliche.

If you had a PS3 to i'd reccomend Folklore, one of the best AJRPG's this gen imo, though since thats not the case... At anyrate don't knock the entire genre just because you so happen to play one of the worst AJRPG's have to offer, there arn't many on the consoles this gen for that matter so...

Ohhh and dont get me wrong man Turn-Based is okay...But for Big games like FFVII to be remade, they really should go beyond the old ways of RPG gaming... so in a FFVII remakes case yes in my honest opinion, so jsut wanted to clear that up.

for me that would be a betrayal of the original source material. though i guess with the blessing of the artist it might be okay, but we have seen what changes like that have done to indiana jones, and star wars.....   It would just feel wrong to me, it could be a great game but without turn based battles it would not be FFVII that would be like removing the whole crossdressing cloud mission

Just to save you the surprise, everyone going to E3 who think they're important has a super double secret megaton announcement.

Stop hyping the announcements, it's annoying.

I'm not hyping it up, 1up is. I'm just letting my fellow VGC members know.

So...you read something and then you repeat it here in an excited manner.  I know, you're just copying the article, but by doing it you're still hyping it.

So yeah, hyping announcements of announcements are annoying.  You are doing exactly what Sony wants you to do.

Wow, lighten up.

Personally I hope it's the thing that the BBC reporter once saw...

it was the Trico trailer

Love how the mods just disappear when someone begins troling against the PS3.

Ya man, they are expected to have all threads, every thread, opened at all times and monitor in real-time. They also shouldn't sleep. That would clearly hinder their mod-manship.

After least years TGS I will never believe in pre-show hype again, let they surpise me duuring showtime, otherwise every 'MEGATON' under the sun is worth an ant's fart.

New games arent megatons this far into a gen (unless maybe an exclusive jumps ship)..... and remakes are nowhere near megatons.

FF VII rema...*is shot*

Erm, fairly sure it will be a megaton if FF7 remake is announced exclusively for PS3.
