@Soriku
Did nintendo have money? Naw.

Soriku said: @W29 Dude, they're not releasing all their key titles on the 360. Maybe new IPs and PS3-360 multi titles but that's it. They're not throwing away the #1 system from here on out for a system that does horribly in Japan and who knows what in the US.
First of all. I would like them to support the 360 more. Thats what my motive at what I'm trying to say. And second you say that
"They're not throwing away the #1 system from there on out for a system that does horribly in Japan and who knows what in the US?"
So what your saying is that the 360 is not the top in America. Now what you should do is look at the sales chart again. It clearly states that the Wii is 4.87 million close to 5 and Xbox 360 is 7 million in America. If you talk sales, think before posting seriously.
"Dude there not releasing all there key titles on the 360. Maybe new IPs for the PS3-360, thats it.
Do you work for Square Enix??!!?
Hmmm let me think......NO!
What the hell is that suppose to mean? You tell me that they're not releasing the key titles on the 360. But you want them to put Star Ocean and Kingdom Hearts on the Wii?!?! Now that completely does not make any sense. If your trying not to be Microsoft 360 bias then your not good at it. And you can call me Nintendo bias. I really don't care for neither both handheld and console. Again thats my public opinion like others say the 360 and PSP suck and don't have games.
Really what I'm trying to say is its good that they are looking for a American company. That means that the American company can help them market the product better and if its Ubisoft. Then we can expect that we will see more Square Enix games on the 360. Regardless if they are multiplatform.

“We need to seek co-operation with a US publisher – we need local content,” Mr Sasaki said at the Tokyo Game Show. “Our strength is in role-playing games and fantasy titles, so it is a bit difficult to appeal to the US market.” Am I reading wrong???? And yes, they are just walking in circles, or maybe just waiting to finish and promote FF:XII and the just jump ship... |
I think they are probably looking at the numbers of their big PS2 RPGs. They sold well in the USA, Europe as well, but only about half as well in most cases and that is in a regions with nearly twice the install base. That probably says to them that they can grow more in these regions by changing things up somehow.

Soriku said: @W29 First off, I have nothing against MS. And 3 mil US Wiis? Lol, last time I checked it's nearing 5 mil. I'm saying Japan is their primary market and the 360 isn't doing well. Sure this is for US games but US-Japan have tie-ins unless they just make a bunch of new IPs (like I said before) to appeal to the US crowd and leave their other series alone. But I still doubt this. @leo-j Maybe. But at that time Enix wasn't with Square. It was only Squaresoft. And I'm sure as hell Sony won't buy SE.
Who the heck said 3 million Wii's. I said 4.87 million. Look now your really trippin. Look at the post before bringing up false comments on what I said.
And you still don't understand what I'm saying. With a help of an American company. That American company can give key points on marketing their product to the Americans to help increase demand. Final Fantasy is a nice franchise but with Square holding back on making the game multi-platform. I'm really starting look at the game now as not a must-have. I really don't mind new IPs, cause the 360 needs those.
Sri Lumpa said: Why do everybody think that they are looking for a big partner? They seem to want a western partner to make more games that appeal over here so why can't they have a development studio as a partner, like Nintendo has Retro and had Rare to make games more suited to the American/European tastes. What I would like to see is a SE/Bioware partnership as I believe whatever would result of it might be quite interesting.
They're not looking for a big partner... definitely not.
What S-E need to do though is improve their time service on US/EU games. Japan get games very early and the rest of the world has to wait for ages. That sort of thing doesn't promote sales because hype for the game disappears and other games released by other companies over shadow them. They need to work on having their games launch in all 3 regions within a 3mth radius in order to get the full effect of sales. If you delay games up to 9-12mths like they do, what the hell do you expect? Gamers are not going to wait around for Square Enix and that is why they suck outside Japan because they give the impression that they don't give a ****.
Like their closed TGS showing...... They were killed by DMC4, MGS4 etc... purely because they like their closed presentations. You don't gather public support in US/EU by doing that.

You got that right. And now that they are taking their sweet on time on the game. I'm just going to give up on the game altogether. That only leaves me wanting MGS4 which is a must-have in a way, but not important. So my hopes of getting a PS3 is 2%. And thats sad, I will stick with my 360.

That makes more sense... still Im specting more Western type games...
Soriku said: @W29 You said 3 mil Wiis but you edited it. Mistake? And I know what you're saying but what happens to the Japanese-oriented games? And when you say 'increade demand,' increase demand on what? 360s? SE software? What?
I did. wow, I never knew that I went back into my post and changed it. I put 4.87 million on my post and then that was it.
When I say increase demand, I mean letting consumers know about your game more, with that in mind Ubisoft or EA or whoever they work with will know more than Japanese and they can pick the right way to do it. Just like Americans can't understand the Japanese market.
Makes sense, Kingdom Hearts and other more action oriented RPGs (Drakengard, Star Ocean 3) have been their current attempts at diversifying and have had mixed success.
