NO you can't compare them. Lord of the Rings is probably the most epic fantasy stories ever written. Sorry but I pick Lord of the Rings over Harry Potter anyday.

But no I wouldn't compare them at all.

Lord of the Rings is one work or literary art ,and great adventure movies too ,but specifically its the creator of a new literary genre (the High Fantasy ) and a work of literary art ,full of layers of subtlety once you start swimming its surface ...

Halo 3 is just another FPS ,it may be a great one but it isnt the creator of a genre ,it hasnt the kind of genius of Tolkien behind ,and its just a videogame after all something cool to play but hardly a work of genius and art .
