I'm probably just playing the game wrong then. If the story is good, I'll keep going then. I just don't like Wrex, he's so ugly looking.

Wrex has two skills that provide total damage invulnerability for a total of 40 seconds per minute, if you control them manually.

He also can train the two most powerful weapons, the shotgun and the assault rifle.

If that wasn't enough, he also has biotics that allow him to disable enemies so he can feast on each one by one.

Ah, if I recall properly he's also got the adrenaline skill that instantly resets all cooldowns.

On top of it, he's also a set of redundant gonads - he doesn't just have brass balls, he's got four of 'em.

You do want Wrex on your team, mate. It can't get any sweeter but he's also got some of the best lines out of all the sidekicks...

I didn't read the vast majority of the replies in this thread yet, but the weapon aiming does improve to razor-like precision as your character's stats improve. The story builds up pretty impressively, too. I loved it, but I guess it helps to be a sci-fi geek! My biggest problem with it, is that the game barely tells you how to play it. You make a lot of mistakes, and make things harder than they really are, simply because things are never properly explained. This will pass in time, though.

I haven't played this game in over a year, and I admit, a lot of the awesomeness can be attributed to the amazing graphics......but since it came out in 2007, what was once amazing and awe inspiring is now, merely average. Keep playing it, though. After you finish the game, you'll really appreciate it, AND you can play through it again with your boosted stats.

The battle can get quite hard in the early stages of the game,You need to upgrade and be careful on what guns and items as your aresnal.

Damn, I may have to start yet another quest on ME. You guys are getting me re hyped for the badassery that is Urdnot Wrex. "Shepard." "Wrex."

Well the side missions generally have higher level guys that you have to fight whislt the main mission are easier (for the most part)   The sniper rifle (among all other guns) get much better as you upgrade each weapon more and more...i got my guy to the point where he could no-scope virtually everyone as long as the red triangle locked on.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Make sure you explore the main quest areas alot....look for the mini side quests.  Talk to everyone you can, get as many codecs as you can (and then read said codecs cause they offer alot of insightfull knowledge about the ME Universe), Play the game at least twice once as a paragon, and once as a renegade.  And most importantly pay attention to the story (cause its very well one of the best stories in a game to date!!)

CAL4MITY: Well I picked John instead of customizing a character, so it stuck me as Soldier class. So far I'm using Kaidan and Garrus (since Kaidan has some Biotics), but I don't know. I may just have to skip sidequests entirely if they're all this boring.

They are not all boring... there are some side quest with a story.  You can easily tell them apart from the hokei pokie side quest.  As for the shooting... it's not just your skill that determines your ability... especially with the sniper rifle.  You get batter as you increase your ability with the rifle.  You're also missing tons of shit as well... things you couldn't possible do because you're not high enough to have the skill to access it.  As a soldier you're best off maxing out your rifle and either your good or bad conversation bars.  Mix it up with some health and defense of course so you can wear heavy armor.  Follow the main quest and shoot off from time to time when a quest peeks your interest.  Also when you go down to do fighting in the land rover/tank take one of your techs who... the better they are the better fixing you get when you damage your tank... it's been forever, but if you want anything specific feel free to send me a PM I remember a couple of interesting side quest (one actually is something that's part of the book series if I'm not mistaken).  Also the main face Shepard is the best... if you make your own it has a plastic feeling to it for some reason... I blame the hair.  The game really gets interesting though as you start to get your big missions.  I loved the game so much that as soon as I beat it I started again ( you can start a new game with your current character... you even keep all your shit and skills which will open up dialogs and let you do some things you were not skilled enough to do).  The game's brilliance isn't in the pieces it's in the whole picture... it feels epic... my girlfriend watched me play through the whole game.  She loves it and has made it so that I'm not even worried about getting the game on day one... she will get the sequel for sure.

I had little trouble playing ME. Tech issues aside, I enjoyed everything about it. Even the side missions as they just added to the texture of the Mass Effect universe and made the story driven planets even more amazing.
I loved tinkering with upgrading weapons and armour. Use the cover system/heal allies as often as you can. Upgrade good/bad speech options for differing outcomes.
I love it so much I just started reading the first novel.
Roll on ME2 @ E3...

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Exploring planets is boring.. Until you encounter the giant worm..

Anyway, I personally loved the game. You need to remember you're not the only one in your team, but your squad is too. It's usually your job to tell them to take cover or stay somewhere. Otherwise they'll die.

I could snipe perfectly. Guess because I'm used to the controls. It actually resembles real life.. In real life you can't aim perfectly and it does move exactly like in the game. So yeah, it adds realism in my opinion.

The game wasn't really hard. You simply need to keep your armor and weapons updated for every character and you're good to go.

The only issues I had with this game is texture popping, some framerate issues, and my Mako apparently destroyed by lava while i never touched it -.- But oh well, it's actually a really fun game. It has one of the best stories ever seen in a game and i love the dialog options.
