Neo-Geo being number 1 is an epic failure....
Funny story. The Neo-Geo wasn't meant to be sold to people.
It was originally only meant to be sold to rental places and hotels so you could rent the system. It was only released to the public in stores because of hardcore arcade fans demand.
Neo Geo was a success that blew past SNKs expectations.

I want to comment on several of these. It isn't like my opinion matters, but I do want to chime in my own two cents here:
7. TurboGrafx-16: the games were for the most part unoriginal rehashes or lame rip-offs—check out "Fighting Street"—of the releases from other systems.
My comment here: Fighting Street is the ORIGINAL Street Fighter that appeared in the arcade. The first Street Fighter was NOT Street Fighter II (note the II). This criticism is unfounded here. A home emulation of a Capcom arcade game is not an "unoriginal rehash or lame rip-off". This comment alone throws this article into question.
2. Atari Jaguar: The Atari Jaguar was full of faults. Bad games, poor construction and questions of it really was 64-bit seemed to plague the Jaguar. I, on the other hand, always seem to dwell on the controller. The Jaguar's controller was the most insane controller I have ever seen. I am not a 100% sure on this, but I believe it had somewhere near 9,000 buttons. It was so beefy that you could kill anyone that questioned you for owning it. The Jaguar went on to end Atari's claim in the home gaming industry and left the company’s legacy in pieces.
My comment here: This complaint about the controller is INANE. Ok, fine, you don't like it. But it actually has LESS buttons then my XBox 360 controller with a keyboard attachment. It came with a NUMBER PAD in the middle. The 360 controller has a keypad in the middle. As for why to own it, it had a few good games for it. First and foremost is Tempest 2000. There was also a good Raiden port for it. And AvP was good. Iron Solider was fun. Ok, did the system suck on the whole? I would say yes, but did have a few good games for it.
1. Neo Geo:
If you were lucky enough to own one of these—I wasn't—you had to get your fill at an arcade. The Neo Geo had some of the most classic games such as Metal Slug, Fatal Fury and 2020 Super Baseball. The games looked great, they were fun and it the system was pretty well built. So what is the problem? The problem was the price to get your hands on one of the system. It cost over $600, and games were easily over $100 each! This low rating for the Neo Geo is really more over my jealousy of not being able to own one. SNK actually made a fairly good system. The Neo Geo has gone on to inspire game developers for the past 15 years and will continue that trend for the next 15.
My comment here: The system was a high end system that revolutionized the arcades, and how coin-op machines work. It is good the person owns up to being jealous he can't own it, because it is WAY unfair. The Jaguar belongs here. Actually Virtual Boy belongs here. It bombed. It hurt my eyes. And it was by a major game manufacturer. It also hardly had any games for it.
Techincally the Virtual Boy was a handheld....
even though it wouldn't fit in your hands.

True some where even more. Pretty good list but I think the Virtual Boy should have been in the top seven or at least get a dishonorable mention.
Oops didn't look at the list close enough the Virtual Boy is on their it should have been ahead of the Neo Geo though. Even though the Neo Geo and the Turbo Graphics 16 where pretty decent system if you look at the overall picture they where still epic failures.
The neo geo was awesome. Games were still being released on it up until only a few years ago.
My biggest gaming regret was selling my Virtual boy. What I wouldn't give for some teleroboxer right now!
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
