Forums - Microsoft - Fuel Is The Biggest Console Game Ever

With 5, 560 square miles of accessible in-game terrain, Codemasters' Fuel is the biggest console game of all time, and they've got the Guinness World Records certificate to prove it.

The award for largest playable area in a console game was awarded to Fuel developer Asobo Studios. Guinness World Records presented the developer with a certificate to commemorate the achievement, which will be included in the next printing of the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition.

"Largest playable area in a console game: The largest playable environment in a console game is 5,560 square miles (14,400 km²), and is featured in FUEL (Codemasters, 2009). The area features rivers, deserts, forests and mountains and was demonstrated at the offices of Guinness World Records, London, UK, on 20 May 2009."

Wow. When does this game come out?

More importantly, how is the 360 and PS3 gonna handle such a huge game without epic lag?

This thread would do better in the Gaming Section, because it's multiplatform..

That remains to be seen.

It's possible that the Blu-Ray won't be able to handle this.

lol.

OT: If they actualy put all that terrain to use i'd be impressed.

hmmm the more I see Fuel trailers, the more I think the game is retarded...

If the game is suppose to about the open space and free movement, then why are they using arrows to point towards a "road" when they go offtrack.. why is there a track period??

it might be just an endless road.
we'd see tho :]

The tornadoes almost have me sold, I just need to see more gameplay..

The track's purpose is if you want to race on a track, you can. If you don't, you can just free roam.
