I mean it's a side story. It's not a main title.

| theprof00 said: How am I saying that KH is more FF dependant? I never once said that. The original game is based on a blend of the two worlds. (btw, I have already said that Sora is from the FF dimension, as stated in game. I've said that now three times.) You can't take either part out of the game. It's like having halo without the covenant, Metal gear without a metal gear robot, persona without the dating, starcraft without the zerg. Sure the games will survive without, but how much is it willing to deliniate in the future? |
Listen. Sora is not from "the FF dimension". I will break this down plain and simple, with examples.
MICKEY MOUSE: Creator: Disney. Owned by: Disney. Origins: Disney films. He is a Disney character.
CLOUD STRIFE: Creator: Square Enix. Owned by: Square Enix. Origins: Final Fantasy 7. Cloud is a Final Fantasy character.
SORA: Creator Square Enix (specifically Tetsuya Nomura. Owned by: Disney. Origins: KINGDOM HEARTS. Sora is a KINGDOM HEARTS CHARACTER.
It does not matter who "influenced" him (and I would say that is Nomura himself, not "Final Fanasy" influence). It's immaterial who created Sora. It doesn't even make a difference who owns him.
HE IS A KINGDOM HEARTS CHARACTER. THE ABSENCE OF FINAL FANTASY CHARACTERS DOES NOT EFFECT SORA, RIKU, OR KAIRI. The Final Fantasy characters add flavor and are largely cameos. Sora is a main character developed for Kingdom Hearts.
You have the most delusional logic in the world, dude.

@bladycor
you act like you would not be upset if luigi disappeared from nintendo games.
EDIT: ff has been there since the beginning. Changing that means it will be something different. Yet you guys say it would only be improved. How can that idea be anything more than opinion?
I only insisted that Sora was a S-E character because you claimed he was a disney character (not you specifically).

Like I said, Sora is (primarily) a Kingdom Hearts character, created by Square and owned by Disney.
Maybe one or two people said that it would be better, though I don't remember it. Most people just said it would not effect the game much. If you've played Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, you know this to be true: it's cool to see your favorite Final Fantasy characters (well, almost favorite, no Zidane :(...), but they do not have significant plot roles or anything. There are not even Final Fantasy worlds. So, yeah, it'll be kinda sad to not see them if you're a hardcore FF fan, but if you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, it doesn't change a thing: because we care about the Kingdom Hearts characters, not the non-native Final Fantasy ones.
All that most people are trying to say is, again, it's the same game with or without Final Fantasy characters.
And for the record, that Luigi analogy is terrible. A more apt one would be me not being upset if they removed Samus' cameo from Super Mario RPG.

Disney does not own Sora. Sora is made by Nomura and Nomura is working with Square Enix. So really Nomura has control over Sora. |
Got a source for that?
I just want to know why your opinion is more important is more than mine?
You think the game's appeal will not change, I think it will.
Having your fave FF characters appear is great. And it would be more like if all nintendo cameos disappeared from any particular game. Just think about how people were so happy that DK was in Punch Out, or things in that regard. Cameos are always appreciated.
How can you say confidently that the game will not be effected, you have no proof. At least I have history on my side.

I'm still buying the game but FF characters is what really made me buy the 1st two games.
There is still hope for the PSP KH.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

Man are you dense.
We aren't trying to monopolize your opinion. We aren't saying you're wrong. We're just giving our reaction to the news. The thread announced a lack of FF characters, most of us gave a collective shrug and moved on. Some, like you, didn't. Like you said, it's OUR OPINION. We aren't trying to 'prove' it won't be better. We aren't saying you're wrong. We're just saying what we think. That's kind of the point of forums. The only person in this thread who has tried to say that their opinion is inherently superior would probably be you.

The FF characters were almost completely meaningless in KH. They only existed in a random guidance role that could have been served by just about anyone. The game completely focused on the Dinsey worlds and characters. KH is Disney's game. They paid for it. It was commissioned for them, to expand their audience. Everything in it is owned by them. The FF characters were just toss-aways.

Well, be that it may, it lost two sales. I'm not buying either.
