Momentum? lol, you are completely wrong, aren't you? ....or am I wrong? Does the PLAYSTATION BRAND have more momentum than the 360 brand? Is the 360 brand doing better than last gen, or worse? Is the PS3 brand doing better than last gen, or worse? MOMENTUM. That said, the Playstation brand is at best "tied" with the MS brand is static consumer standing right now. Thinking that the PS brand is a much more massive force COMPARED to the Xbox brand, this generation, in home consoles, is the result of either brainwashing or ignorance. In America, the Xbox brand is significantly, SIGNIFICANTLY more popular this gen, and even in Japan, the Playstation brand is a distant second to Nintendo. You are absolutely wrong, sir. Do you disagree? "Sales?" The 360 and the Wii consistantly outsell the PS3 and are vastly ahead in userbase. "Marketshare?" The PS3 is in last place, as far as marketshare. Vastly. "Bigger franchises?" Check the sales. The only franchise that Sony has, that matters, compared to a Nintendo franchise, is Gran Turismo. Otherwise, Sony franchise sales suck, compared to sales of games like Gears, Halo, Mario Kart, Zelda, and pretty much any damn thing. Also, Sony has lost a VAST amount of brand associated franchises this gen, from Tekken, to DMC, to GTA, to Final Fantasy. Sony's big franchises took a mass exodus to the Xbox 360. You sir, are 100 percent, provably, and undeniably wrong. |
LOL,i was talking about PLAYSTATION not PS3 and i was looking at the big picture not just this gen
1.Sales ( without including PSP or PS1 )
PS3 + PS2 = Over 150 million sold OR if you like to include this generation only PS3 +PSP = over 60 million sold
Xbox + Xbox 360 = Over 50 million sold
PlayStation brand usually sells over 200k every week Xbox brand usually sells 160k every week
2.Marketshare
Out of 200 million consoles sold this gen, PlayStation sold over 60 million, Xbox brand sold 30 million
3.Franchises
Just Gran Turismo alone outsells Halo and Gears Of War franchises together, so your logic fails again. And those franchises you mentioned there were NEVER SONY's franchises, they were 3rd party franchises, pleas get yor facts straight before you get into argument.
So, by having more consoles/handhelds on market, selling more hardware per week, having stronger franchises, PlayStation brand is in much better posision than Xbox brand which lost about 6 billion for Microsoft. I think the Nextbox will probably be the Lastbox
