I think some of the ladies and gentlemen here are misunderstanding what the main focus of Heavy Rain is!!! The graphics, which IMO look freaking amazing, are great, as are the animations, but the focus or heart of the game lies in puting you, the player in these intense life or death situations, that is part of the reason why the game has no GAME OVER!!! If you're in a strugle for your life and you miss a punch here and there, you don't tell your attacker timeout and rinse and repeat!!! In this game the QTEs act as every single one of those punches and actions which in the consequences of the game could mean life and death!!! That's why it's vital to get each action right, because once you're into the game and the more you start caring about these characters, those life and death situations are gonna become, more and more intense, because you're gonna care if your character lives or dies and you'll strugle and fight to keep them alive!!! That sort of imersion is what makes Heavy Rain so special, I hope I helped some of you understand the focus of the game a little better, besides it's still early, the game will improve it's graphics and animations as developement continues, I have faith!!!

Its a button command game...no different than DDR. Basically, it is a simulation/movie of terrorizing people without true adventure gameplay. There is no way a person can feel immersed in the game, besides for the fact that they are responsible if the person gets hit.

Theoretically:

This is the first game for which I'm genuinely excited that's on an HD console this generation. It has a lot of potential.

Realistically:

I probably be heavily let down and the game will be heavily watered down and the guy's "adult orientation" probably pertains only to the one shot of the woman in her underwear and nothing more. Or it will be only a ridiculous amount of QTEs, or it will be the most boring story ever, or something. It is a console game after all.

P.S.

Graphics are extremely underwhelming this time around.

Well in the US probably, remember Indigo Prophecy, Europe got the uncensored version where there were actual sex scenes while for once America got the shaft.

One thing i'll say about my country is that we are hypocritcal when it comes to sex. Children nor teenagers can watch sex, but they can pretty much watch MTV, Fuse and other music channels with tons of sexual innuendo or mention.

 Contradiction anyone?

I'm going to leave before I start name calling. jk . Or am I.

Not-so-amazing graphics and animations, in a game that tries to "put player in a movie" is not a good thing. However ...

I knew what to expect from Heavy Rain from the start - a spiritual successor to Fahrenheit, no more no less. And that's what it is going to be as it seems, and it's fine by me. Not that many story-driven games are out there, and most of them are weird, low-budget japanese RPGs on handhelds. So you gotta appreciate what Quantic Dream does.

Making a story-driven game and taking this task seriously is something what doesnt happen often in gaming industry these days.

This reminds you of adventure games? It's a psychological thriller movie.

...

I saw the video. It looked like a shitty attempt at a CGI movie.

...

It's ok, we understood. Nice contribution. There, there...

after the one link that CGI has posted I was totally blown away at how the glasses worked with the Jayden. The over-all graphic fidelity is very high, those saying otherwise should check out CGI post and see for yourself. Mind you the OP link is not a video capture and is not in HD and is running a low resolution. Everyone knows that ps3 games look worlds better in HD than in sd, so I know the haters are always going to hate....but come on this game looks fantastic.

I am guessing you must have a "sd" tv for a computer monitor?  I loved what I saw, I am a big fan of Indigo prophecy and will be buying this game first day.  I think you are entitled to your opinion, but it is still just "your' opinion.  If you think so badly about this game, why are you even commenting over and over and over again about a game you will not buy?  Do you even have a ps3?  Between you truth prophet (untruth prophet), Derek, and misterromar mk4 I cannot tell who is the bigger ps3 hater.

Now I can see why Kojima wasn't satisfied with MGS4. It's crap like this with too many cinematics, that makes you want to create actual gameplay. He took the criticism of Cliffy B very well.
