I bought a PS2 for Final Fantasy X only.

I suppose PSP has got to be the closest... I bought it mainly for MGS: Portable Ops, but I did have some other games in my mind too (namely Final Fantasy and God of War). Also, it was pretty cheap.

I bought a gamecube solely to play Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Ended up buying a few more games for it, but not many. Twighlight princess being one of them.

I'm sorry... i'm just loling for those who answered PS3 for Final Fantasty =).
Man Sony's PR worked great on that point. Had it not been 500€ i might have bought it too =p

Now on to the point.

NES for Zelda (played it in the summer when my cousin brought the console and the game).... best money I ever spent ^^

Genesis... late in the gen, I started having more $$ and I felt like playing the Sonic games (so yeah more than one game .... also played a few others, I enjoyed it)

GB... mario and tetris (well the real reason was that I saw a guy with a mini nintendo cartrage at the airport, I was jealous!!.. yeah I was like 8)

Everytime I buy PCs, I spend 2x the amount just because of games I want to play... but it's not one in particular.


All the other consoles, I didn't buy for just one game.... my general rule is that I need to want at least 3-4 games on the console... unless it's Zelda, in that case, i'll get it anyways.

I never have, and never will, buy a platform or upgrade a PC because of one game. One game will never be enough for me to justify that

i Upgrade my PC every year or so to keep up with the new games. I bought my Xbox for Halo and Halo 2. Other than that i buy consoles for multiple games

Well one because of Xbox Live.  And two I didn't want a PS2.  I wanted an Xbox.  If I had wanted a PS2 I would have gotten Burnout 3 with a PS2.  But I didn't want a PS2.  Never did and pretty much still don't.
