Forums - Nintendo - How big will The Conduit have to open to NOT have cries of "it's a bomb!"?

50k first week Im happy

500,000. if it sells 500,000 first week then it will have sold more than NMH ltd and sold 5 times more than Madworld in its first week.

It would be a flop then.

I kind of look forward to low opening sales on Nintendo console games these days. It gives us the opportunity to come back and smash people upside the heads for their cries of "failure", when those numbers climb up.

It's fun!

A come from behind win scenario? Becomes a sleeper hit?! I like that! ;)

2 Million week one.

I mean not me. I don't expect it to do more then 300K but then again that's just because it doesn't inerest me at all and all i know about it is the guy vaguely reminds me of Gordon Freemen with out a goatee.

I wonder if the Wii haters really will accept any number.

Never, like everyone here said...

If it fails to make profit, then it will be considered a flop.

It's the devs/pubs that decide it's a flop, not the fanboys of the opposing consoles.

Many consider NMH and Madworld to have flopped, but they actually did score profit tmk ;).

Let us remember there has been a drought in Wii software this year. So there is probally a lot of pent up demand for this type of game.

"Like you know"

To not have any cries of "It's a bomb!" at all? 50 million sales in the opening week, minimum.

And yes, I'm aware that this is more than the total number of Wiis sold to date. In other words, I don't think ANY amount of sales the first week will avoid cries of "It's a bomb!" from the haters. That would require them to base their arguments on reality, and while there are some people who do this, they won't be the ones crying bomb.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
