Agree 100%. People rag on MadWorld, yet it wouldn't have sold any better on any other system. It was clearly a niche game. A very good and enjoyable niche game, but niche all the same.

Wrong.  If it was sold on XBLA for $15, it would have pushed 1 mil+ copies.

If it was sold for $15 anywhere it would have broke 1m. But that is fantasy land and I was talking about reality.

Sorry, I thought we were in fantasyland, you know.. where Wii graphics are now suddenly equal to PS3 and 360, where the Wii now has a FPS fanbase, and where the Conduit is going to sell more than COD.  My bad.

Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

I agree with everything the guy said, absolutely everything.

The Conduit will do well, better than MadWorld. HOTD is still selling, so don't count it out yet.

I still say 1.25m for The Conduit after like 9 months? Usually when we say lifetime around here, we predict after 5-8 months, not 2 years. And with Wii-legs, we can't count a game out after 6-9 months.

The Conduit....comes out the 24th....35 days away.......

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I say if the Conduit breaks a million lifetime that would be a success in my mind. House of the Dead should do fine in the long run too. Madworld,- maybe not so much.

How about coming back to reality, where none of this was ever claimed.

Don't you mean the 23rd...? Don't tell me i got the dates wrong. I though new games came out on Teusday's in the US, which June 23rd is on, also, wiki kinda says 23rd...

How technical is your game?

One thing overlooked here is while I hate this company they may be the deal breaker to HELP push sales for Conduit.

Gamestop has a big influence in game sales in the US and if they made a deal with Sega to have a SE edition that means they will market this themselves quite a bit and push preorders on it like crazy.

Most don't know how much influence Gamestop has in games in the US.

errm, sorry... I don't know what I did here.

Here are some considerations , to put this to rest...

-Metroid Prime Series & Call Of Duty are both very well recognised franchises , mabe COD moreso to the general consumer.
-Assuming that Conduit has as much as 50% the success Call Of Duty 5's success it will only sell around 550k

Yes, and you can have COD in a lot of plataforms that can do better graphics, COD is more popular in the PC. The Conduit will be an exclusive game, that you only can find in the Wii.

Forget about COD, this is a multi plataform that is more about the multiplayer and graphics, you just can't compare both games, because as I already said, COD you can find in a lot of plataforms.

I think your missing the point , there isn't a signficant market for FPS's on the Wii , the only FPS's that have ever done well all have huge franchises behind them (With the exception of Red Steel , which I believe has alot of potential on the Wii).

There are 16 FPS games on the Wii, 44 on the PS3 and more than 50 on the 360. Some people might argue that this is due to a lack of proper research/willingness on the developers behalf but on the contrary , it's evident that market on the Wii for FPS games is too small to sustain that many.

What difference makes COD be a huge franchise if you can find this game in a lot of systems that have better graphics or multiplayer (that is the real point of the game)? What the COD did on the Wii is a miracle, I doubt that who have a PC/360/PS3/PS2 and don't care about the gameplay bought this game on the Wii. Now, even the HD owners can buy The Conduit (if they have the Wii), because it is an exclusive. Now we have the following situation in The conduit (speaking of consumers):

1-Who wants to play a FPS with a better gameplay

2-Who only have the Wii

3-Who have one HD console, but have the Wii, likes FPS and knows that this an exclusive game for wii

4-Who wants to see a good story (where in the hell that COD has a great story? Come on, just try to see what The Conduit is about in the storyline trailer). COD = Multiplayer

But speaking of the COD (the Wii versions), we have only 2 of these parameters:

1-Who wants to play a FPS with a better gameplay

2-Who only have the Wii

I like FPS games, but Metroid 3D never attracted me. And like I said, what the COD did on the Wii is a miracle, we just can't compare.

I am not missing the point, I understand what you said, but what we can expect from a game that is popular for multiplayer and graphics and has a lot of other systems that attend more these parameters? Ok, you can say "and the Metroid 3?", Sincerely, this game is more for Nintendo fans that are monitoring the franchise for so long, and for me, The Conduit will be the first FPS game that will really show how exclusive FPS games for the Wii from third partys can sell on the Wii. The numbers of FPS in each system only shows that the Wii only receive a FPS when is multiplataform (we have few exceptions). And errrm, sorry for the bad english.

 Seriously?

The thread is only 4 pages long.  Read it.  In fact, I believe the first post (YOURS!) details how High Voltage feels the Conduit is on par with 360 & PS3 graphics.  The other points I listed have been made in this thread already.
