The game is not coming to PC/360 until early 2010, so why are EA and Bioware hyping it so much now. I know it is going to have a decent E3 showing, but why tease us so much when it is still so far away.... I think I need to go and play Mass Effect 1 to ease the pain
Maybe they are hyping it because as a surprise they be bringing it this year perhaps. plus ffxiii has been getting hyped for years, same as spore. Games need hype to sell.

But they could just be hyping their other game, Dragon Age Origins, which is coming this holiday, instead of driving us crazy!!

You have a point but it does tell me they are bringing it out early, because the people would be thinking "i want it now" and so they suddenly release it people will be like 'OMG'.
EA is a clever beast, Bioware did not hype Mass Effect as high it should have been, they have learnt this time around to hype such an awesome game.

The first game sold 2m anyway. I would forgive them if they are going to move the release forward, but they already have enough fans, but this is becoming torture
LOL. I understand the pain. It's like the first time you saw OOT and new it wasnt out for a year.;(
Seriously it's hard enough waiting for a good game, but waiting for the sequel to the best game this gen is torture. To some even the best game ever. ( Cant decide on that yet ).
But without a doubt Mass Effect 2 will get GOTY whenever it comes out. I feel sorry for FF13 if it arrives in 2010. Mass Effect 1 was better than every JRPG Ive ever played, and I'm a JRPG fan to. :)
^I feel sorry for Mass Effect 2 if it somehow comes out in late 2009. Being outsold by Japan only FFXIII would be embarassing.
Still, I agree with Munkeh - EA and Bioware should be hyping Dragon Age more now. It's been so long since Bioware made a PC-centric game, they could make a big comeback with DA.
Sin of the modern industry. Hype, overhype, all kinds of problems.
Mass Effect 1 should help at least until E3...
