I would like to add that he is also a failure as human being. The Escape from the Monkey Island is the weak link in the chain. All the others are awesome. My favorite adventure games after Day of Tentacle.

@ItsaMii: To be fair, MAFKKA mentioned the great Curse of Monkey Island as his favorite, not Escape from Monkey Island.

I know, everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but to call The Secret of Monkey Island - one of the best and funniest adventure games ever created - crap (MAFKKA), calling it "a kid's game, fun to go through once" (bardicverse) makes me sad. Well, maybe I'm a bit biased, as The Secret of Moneky Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge are among my all-time favorite games.

This is definitely not a website to discuss PC classics...

I'll get this--I like'd LeChuck's Revenge and The Curse of Monkey Island, but strangely enough I've yet to play this one.

Also, I will NEVER get over the fact that the main chaqracter's name is Guybrush.

Oh man, I missed the monkey island series when I was a child. Instead I got wrapped up too much in Kings Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory and all those other classics. But I've always wanted to get into Monkey Island. Thank god now finally like, almost 20 years later I can get into the game.

This is much excellent.
