No, Wii owners don't want another crappy HD port.

Who says it would be crappy?
You know, they could actually put some effort into the Wii version...if it existed, that is.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

This guy is talking like L4D's graphics were groundbreaking.

Hyperion, Valve already has a dev kit for the Wii, so they are developing something, we just don't know yet.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

This is a little off topic but since everyone is bringing up other games..... Wasn't Blizzard developing a Wii game? I thought I heard news about that awhile ago but of course it isn't listed on their website.

I never heard of Blizzard developing but I know Bethesda and Valve are.

Oh, I guess I must have just wished that was the case.... I never really got why they canceled Starcraft Ghost after so long in development. I know they canceled that one Warcraft title also because it didn't meet their standards but Starcraft Ghost looked pretty amazing at the time...

Actually GTA Wii has a very high chance of being developed. Reggie Fils-Aime said that he'd "love for GTA to come to the Wii but that is Take Two's decision, not Nintendo's."

And if you ask Viper or Bardicverse they may tell you that they already have a dev kit for the Wii or a ported engine for a GTA Wii, I know of a few developers you'd never expect to see to develop for Wii but in fact are. Valve is one of them. They already have a dev kit for the Wii and from what I've heard the source engine running on the console. Doug Lombardi was considering bringing L4D to the Wii.

Rockstar's RAGE engine is on Wii which powered GTAIV.

I'm surprised a Wii-make of the 6th gen GTA's hasn't been announced to at least assess the Wii's support for such a game.   Bully was Wii-made and sold decently for a low profile Rockstar sandbox title.

As for Blizzard, I know they had Wii under consideration at one point but I don't know if they still do.

Blizzard doesn't make console games.

even if it took it's time to reach 1m it still did and it's still profitable to the developers

1m are too many people to ignore...

Not necessarily.  The issue is whether the return on investment justifies the port or not.  Sure, they would make money off of those million sales, but it is also possible that they could make more money by using the resources on something else entirely.  Only Activision knows the specifics of how much it cost, what their ROI was, and whether they considered CoD:WaW Wii a good investment for the money.

Multiplatform is NOT a port.

And how many HD ports did we have? 2. One was judged bad before it was evern released, thus not given a chance.

Those are not an argument against doing more of something.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
