Well, the price tag was a major disadvantage, but you are forgetting that they didn't put this price on it just for fun, but due to the extremly high costs. If they would have wanted to release it at lower costs they would have have scrapped the Blu-ray. But in this case they wouls have lost even more. They knew that they would be more expensive than Microsoft, and they were in dire need for something extra that would justify this additional price.
If they would have been able to release at the same time and for the same price as the Xbox360 their brand name alone would have won the market, everything beyond that was damage control.
Can someone explain what was in the empty white boxes in the OP so I can join in the discussion?

There wasn't much difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 during 07, so im not entirely sure what you're trying to say.

Sorry, what I meant was the holidays for 07 after the price cut. The holiday 07 like result would lead to very little difference and its infact what I predicted except in this case the Xbox 360 is ahead of the PS3 marginally in the prediction.

as for the next holiday season there is another coincidence that makes me believe that the ps3 will outsell the 360 for 2010 holiday season

it doesnt matter whcih console you like the best, whichever way you look at it, the ps3 is gonna hammer the 360 this holiday. just go to the home page for proof.
