While "sonic one" may not be to your musical tastes...the tune definetly echoes old sonic games. Sonic CD/Sonic 3 stuff...

SNES and Genesis were cool I especially love the stuff on Secret of Mana/FFVI and Chrono trigger and the Konami stuff like Axelay/ganbare goeman and Castlevania but musicians for the SNES overused the reverb on the chip which put me off a bit..


I much prefer the music chip coming from the pc engine/turbo grafx when done right..

also wario shake it is a recent game with are definite classic style sound to it,

anyway the neo geo had some great soundtracks,

geonitz, aside from being an awesome boss far too few have had the privledge to be beaten by, has a great theme

magical drop has some fine music too, I'd say world and magician are the 2 biggest stand outs
