I really like the stealth additions. At several points in Uncharted, I thought "Damn, I wish I could be stealthy here". Even in Chapter 19 (I think it was) with the large open space, two snipers, and a grenade launcher, after getting down the tower, which was supposed to be stealthy (Drake even said so), stealth was impossible.

This looks like being one of the ultimate modern games. It has taken so many things that are good about modern games and brought them together.

It looks very good and cool, it also looks like the climbing system has been optimised and improved :D

I would also like to see more puzzles in the second one. You didn't have a lot of puzzles in the first uncharted, but the few puzzles in there were very cool

Looks like it cant be done on 360.

*Just kidding no meltdowns please*

- Blurring in cutscenes might have me annoyed
- Still sliding towards cover
- When Drake grabs the enemy will hanging, the enemy first miraculously moves towards him before being grabbed.
- Drake's roll over the floor seems a bit weird to me. And it must certainly be painfull doing that all the time over the rocks

The positives speak for themselves

I really like the improved animations, makes the game more fluid. I disliked the awkward animations that occur in Gears 1/2 and Uncharted 1 whereby you'll stand next to a wall and your character awkwardly attaches themselves to said wall, after the button press. It felt like it was "Think, move to being next to cover, think, attach self to cover" as opposed to "think and then do".

It may have just been that the player knew how drake would react and thus it looked more smooth than what a normal player will get, but in that scene on the street, the first bit of cover that Nate slides into looked awesome and real (the bit in the city streets where he slides from that cover then to behind the car, pops up and starts shooting and then doing that melee move)

Graphics look amazing, definitely an improvement over Uncharted, there's so much more going on on-screen. The use of random items as cover (tables etc) was seen in Gears 2 (and even then it wasn't the first game to do it). It's not particularly original but it's an excellent addition.

I think Uncharted 2 will be an amazing but unoriginal game (similar to KZ2, but more amazing). Don't get me wrong though, it's not necessarily a bad thing (I'd rather they do something similar to others than go out there and fail hard), but I think it may lose points with reviewers (and thus be a target for people who don't have their own opinion and use other peoples opinions in reviews and represent them as fact) for not innovating.

1. That was already in the first Uncharted game. Are you sure you played it? You were able to use random items as cover in the first Uncharted.

2. Actually, it looks rather original. What other game on the market can you get that incorporates so many different gameplay mechanics in it? Stealth, Run and gun, TPS-Cover, Platforming.... and as far as seamless cutscenes and story go - Uncharted is one of the best. When Uncharted 2 comes out, there will be nothing on the market remotely similar to it.

The closest are MGS 4 and Gears.

However, both of those games are extremely LIMITING and STIFF compared to Uncharted. Neither of those games comes close to have the same amount of platforming (jumping, climbing, shuffling, etc) that Uncharted does. Uncharted has far more mobility than MGS and Gears.

In Gears, every battle is the same. Run behind something, cover and shoot.

In Uncharted, you can climb, jump, hang... and new additions to Uncharted 2, it looks like its incorporating a lot more melee and shooting attacks WHILE hanging.

Naughty Dog took small parts from many games (MGS, Gears, Tomb Raider, etc) and made it into their own beast here.
