Oh, please. The Xbox version of Splinter Cell always sold best. Not many GameCube owners now own a 360. Quite a few PS2 owners do, but really, of 810,000 people on a userbase of 130 million, how many of those people will own one of 30 million Xbox 360s?
Splinter Cell is clearly on a decline, even ignoring Double Agent (not quality wise, but sales wise, certainly). On Xbox only:
Splinter Cell: 2.93 million
Pandora Tomorrow: 1.41 million
Chaos Theory: 1.07 million
To expect the series to jump from 1.07 million, on a downward trend, to 3 million+, is quite ridiculous, I think. All of the versions of Double Agent combined would have hit around 2 million (we only have data for 360, PS3 and Wii, which are 1.41 million in total, of which, to be fair, 1.14 million were from 360).
