Yes, but a lot of the more tradional style PC gaming we see more and more on consoles, like first person shooters.

Often PC games are being released late (like GTA was originally first on the PC, ported from the Amiga as C= bankrupted, now it's late) and some games don't seem to get released at all (including Microsoft published titles). This strenghtens 360 gaming, but weakening PC gaming.

Of course there are many people who play card games or whatever on their PC, but personally I am not interested in that and neither are most hardcore PC gamers (of whom most seem to pirate games).

I aint bashing the 360 i am just stating that you can get a 360 for as cheap as 129 pounds. But you need at least 300 pounds for a PS3. So we know that all 120K+ people who brought a PS3 payed at least 300 pounds. The best performing Sku of 360 is the 129 pounds unit so its all relative.

Like I said , PC gamming still exists. Digital distribution and casual games, and MMO's are all still hugely popular on the PC.

1) PS3 has entry price of 400$ and is the most expensive console on the market. That is 2x time more expensive, than x360 entry price.

2) During recession the most expensive console on the market suffers more, than cheaper ones.

3) US April sales:

Xbox 360 - 175K
PlayStation 3 - 127K

Japan April sales:

PS3 - 108,530
360 - 27,381

Xbox 360 - 202K

With having in mind, that VGC probably undertracked Others PS3 sales estimates, it`s pretty much safe to say, that in April PS3 was outselling x360 WW.

With all above said, this is the power of PLAYSTATION brand. =)

I guess that 20k difference was worth the loss of $600 million in their last fiscal year in their once profitable gamming division

lol, sadly, japan is nearly irrevelevant to gaming these days.....even the UK is a BIGGER market than japan.

And you are trying to tie this in how to the question of the thread which is, is it a good or bad sign that PS3 sells on par with the Xbox 360 these days, given the fact that the OP contends:
