Forums - Microsoft - Are there any JRPG/RPG demos up on marketplace?

I have never played a JRPG so I have no idea if I will like them, the storys look epic and really interest me but I just don't have a clue on gameplay!

As for RPG I have played Fallout 3 and Fable 2, are those anything like Mass Effect (which I also think looks awesome)

So any demos you know of that give a good idea on what JRPG's are all about please point me in the right direction!!

There certainly used to be....

But if IU is one of them... dont bother.. its shit.

LO was there a long time ago.. dont know if it still is.

funny, I was looking at the boxart of IU in the shop yesterday, I'll give that a miss then, hopefully the LO demo iss till up, I'll try later!

Aw ok! see how do they expect people to buy these JRPGS without getting a try!!!

I guess youtube videos will have to make do for now ... won't be making a purchase yet.

You would think Microsoft would put a demo up of at least one of those 3 SE titles that were released last year ...

Is the European marketplace different? I went to look for demos two days ago and they had most of the JRPGs (try Tales of Vesperia if you can find it).

A demo is not very good for a JRPG. The best thing about JRPGs is the story and the atmosphere - something a demo can't deliver.

If you really want to try a JRPG, you should just buy one. You might wanna give Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia or Star Ocean a try. I have Infinite Undiscovery and I did not like it that much. Save-points are far away. You died? Have fun with 45 minutes of doing the same stuff again, just to die again.

But be careful, you might actually love JRPGs... that could be quite expensive then.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I have faith the story can deliver, its the gameplay I'm worried about. I'm very picky with games so even if I developed a love of JRPG's I would probably only end up buying 3 :-d

Well then don't buy Lost Odyssey. That's a game that does everything great except for gameplay, which is the definition of average. If you want a first choice, try Vesperia.

Lost Odyssey is the best JRPG so far this gen.
Get it

As for Mass Effect, it is the best 360 exclusive imo.
Get that too!

There wasn't ever a demo for LO or IU.

I would go with IU over Star Ocean personally.
