well i was playing kz2 and i guess that was what froze my game? that was the first time i have had a game freeze on me.

perhaps this update is to ready the system for a much bigger update, like they've done before.
Perhaps this update will jump to 3.0, and I would like it to include the following:-

- standard access to folders with in folders, and may just go as deep as 5 levels, as well as allowing one to manage files from folder to folder including the same management on external hard drives

- the codec will be updated and this time it will support just about everything video wise

- the trophy card/comparison of trophy cards/and friends icons should be all cached so that viewing them is instantaneous rather than having to wait to see the same data each time

- the option to dump the whole game on the hard drive if an install option is not available for the game

- a utility to defragment your hard drive, optional of course

These I reckon would be plausible things added in the next PS3 update, now I would of loved to add the return of backwards compatibility, and though hopeful it will eventually return, it's not logical nor plausible for the simple fact that PS2 are still being sold.

anyone else have ideas of what they think could come next?

I have to update to play Killzone online again, seriously sony stop wasting time....

I'm in the same boat. I can't play Warhawk because of this very minor update. Every time it reaches 10%, I get a disconnect error, so I decided to download it at the PlayStation...but the update is not available at the PlayStation 3's website. This is an epic fail on Sony's part.

If it is DNS error (I was getting this problem) you should input this manually into your DNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 ...
