[UPDATE]: Microsoft PR has sent an e-mail clarifying that the 11.6 million Xbox 360 figure is actually a reference back to the shipped figures released in July, even though this latest release specifically uses the term "sold." Next-Gen has contacted Microsoft for further clarification.

 Then your powers of comprehension are even greater than I had imagined! Seriously though, I think all of the people who interpreted the number correctly are also familiar with how the numbers are reported.

All because an article stated that Microsoft said sold through customers. The article said explicit that they know the difference between shipped and sold to costumers. I bet my ass of, that 50% people posting didn't even read MY post.

Okay, so you didn't read the press release? You didn't do your homework? The article you quoted has a link to the Microsoft press release. The article is clearly referring to the press release, right?
