MS already started assualting casuals last year, at holidays time.
The fact that the OP didn't even notice is a testimony to the epic failure it was.
They put a lot of money in advertising too. Only to sell shitty amount of casual games.
The only ones they sell are bundled with the console.

If they try to directly take on the Wii... then they are stupid.

They need to keep focus on SONY and what they will do to take that 2nd place.

Microsoft still put most of their money in Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and Left 4 Dead , and other hard core games. They only advertised their causal games at their Xbox 360 kiosk in stores and at E3

 Staying focused on Sony is the Worst thing they could do. Nintendo is selling 25 million -30 million a year and Sony is selling 10 million -11 million a year. Nintendo is going into super Nova and Sony is crashing and burning. The silly graphics war with Sony is only gonna cost Microsoft Millions. Making for shooters and hardcore games isnt gonna push hardware any more.

If this is true, then everyother hardcore gamer will go to PS3 if Microsoft ignores the hardcore group.

No, ignoring SONY is a BIG mistake... as a fight against Nintendo would be futile.

I think Microsoft is thinking that there gonna keep selling Halo and Fable games, but also put out a larger more direct war against Nintendo. Microsoft always always always attacks the biggest dogs. Almost never the second or third biggest. ex. Apple, Google, Playstation (till now), now its surely Nintendo. Microsoft makes $15 billion a year, why go after the third place dude?
