Forums - Gaming - Sony says PlayStation 3 will make late comeback

No, I am completely serious.

PS3 is an all in one entertainment machine. It is capable of everything a computer can do short of PC games. For me if any company could come out with an all in one machine that had the amount of games the PS3 has, $999 would be no sweat for me no matter what kind of money I was making. I bought the PS3 when I was making $7.63 an hour, while going to school, and paying $525 a month for rent.

If you have only the money one one display, and one box to go with it, the PS3 is the absolute best deal you can have.

3D Modeling, Video Editing, Audio Editing, Phone-in Number Services, Programming, Higher Resolution, File Flexibility, Office Applications, Video/Audio Streaming, and much more, PS3 is a toy like like all consoles in essence, it's nothing like a computer.

Have you even researched the PS3? It can very easily and cheaply be turned into a pc, and still remain a solid gaming platform. Lynux anyone?

yes, and I also know that for $999 and only that amount of memory, there are things that'd be a disaster on it and you'd have to do extra work to make it work like a workstation which serves no real purpose since you can buy a faster PC at the time for 999 already, even right now, at it's price tag, I can already build a pretty fast computer at the same price, which is why there is absolutely no reason that you'd choose a PS3 over a PC at any given time if you want to do PC like things.

You know what I find the most surprising. No it is not the claims of success, or their hope for a return to glory. It is their key points. The things they return to. The old all in one box nonsense that failed miserably everywhere else. Seeing as you can buy a laptop for the price of a PS3 it really was never a strong argument to begin with. Further more they committed the same blunder of putting gaming at the tail of their lists. Hell that had developers foaming at the mouth about Sony marketing.

Apparently Australia is not only down under, but twelve months behind. All of these marketing ideas were discontinued over a year ago in all of the other major markets. How is it that Sony in Australia is still using them. Are they not being informed about changes in strategy, or are they just expected to do their own thing alone. That would seem like a poor global strategy. Either way how is Sony going to come back if it is not applying lessons learned.

seriously is PS3 profiting now

1GB of fully utilizable RAM with a good linux platform is plenty.

Also I want to appologize for sounding so fanboyish in my last post. I do support many other companies besides Sony, and I think they all make great products, but so far PS3 is the best electornic product I have been able to find on the market. Even my $1500 panassonic Blue-ray player is not as worthwhile as the PS3. The picture is better, but the value is retartedly low.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I like Sony TVs better than their PS3, too expensive as usual though. and KBG, what would you use it for? I can only see large server hosting purposes if anything, it doesn't have the memory for large quantities of video editing nor is it for really high res stuff, not to mention that there is noway in hell that you'd get wine to work properly with it at the moment which is a big big minus for personal use. can't even utilize the video features correctly without the video driver since x11 constantly blows up in people's faces.

look at it this way, if I went out and bought some awesome gming pc, with a bluray player, and hdmi out, that plays games as good as the ps3 does, I would be in the hole, oh, i don't know, around at least 1600-2000 dollars, not to mention all the games I like to play, for the most part are only on consoles, and most of them I don't have to install. the ps3 is no super pc, but if you are looking for the best bang for your buck, it is the best way to go for all around entertainment, and kick ass games.

it doesn't cost anywhere near 1600-2000 ^^;;;;; what crack are you smoking lol. PS3 isn't like the end game of super power when it comes to awesome graphics and physics that Sony PR would make you believe for it's price, a better question from me is, would you, pay one thousand dollars for a PS3 with a little more memory? I sure as hell wouldn't, it's just common sense.

My respect goes to SONY, out of all the companies they should be No:1, IMHO.
