According to Polyphony Digital, this "extended demo" of the upcoming racing simulator has now sold more than 3.3 million copies. (link to source in article)

This Prologue sold very well in Europe, much better than the Prologue for Gran Turismo 4. Over 4 times as much!

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Not doubting VGChartz or anything but as I said this is sales ending December 08. Half a year has gone and I think we are closer to 4 million with disc and PSN sales.
