Forums - Sony - Why does PS3 games have DLC if its on a Blue ray?

Isnt the biggest selling point of a blue ray that it has 6x the storage of a standard DVD and can hold more content. Whats the point of blue ray superior capacity if PS3 games are nickel and dimming gamming content just like the Xbox 360 games? I mean 2 maps for $6. Couldnt that have just fit fine on a  blue ray?

Because the DLC is usually made after the game is released...

Sure, they could fit on the disc, but games do have to ship at some point.

Few reasons i could think of is maybe some games like Warhawk, some of the DLC are created after the game was released. They're just extra bonus contents for players that want more of the game. As well some developers such as Capcom purposely not include some DLC onto the disc pretty much to milk out as much money as they can.

Well then doesnt this prove that a blue ray is point less because there just gonna have DLC anyways?

DLC has redered Blue ray disc to be pointless. Apples newest laptops dont even have a DVD Player!!! Nothing!

Alas, some DLC is stored on the disc.

First of all it is Blu-Ray and the DLC's are usually released after the game is made and they give the companies additional sources of income since if they were on the disk then they might as well have just been part of the main game, wouldn't make much sense then!
