Forums - Microsoft - FFXIII 360 Exhibits Storage Limitations, PS3 Not Affected

According to Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase, the Xbox 360 version of the eagerly awaited RPG may only include English voiceovers due to its limited storage capacity per disc – the PlayStation 3 release, however, is not affected by such constraints thanks to Blu-ray. 

“Obviously, when we talk about XIII it’s for PS3 and Xbox – with PS3 being on Blu ray there would be enough memory, but on Xbox probably not,” said Kitase. “At the moment we’re thinking of releasing the voice in English only. Are there many people who would like to play with Japanese voices?”

For the sake of all Final Fantasy fans lets hope that this is the only limitation, I don’t want the actual game outside of languages affected just because of the Xbox 360 alone.

Strangely I can see alot of other features cut from the final product (lossless audio comes to mind).  As long as one of them is not crippled I guess I can live with this (getting the ps3 version i.e. the definative version IMOB)

Come on.  Of all the millions of copies an Xbox 360 version of FFXIII might sell, I doubt if there would be 100,000 prospective buyers that would voluntarily play through the title in Japanese if the option was offered.

No, the core will complain.  The normal joe will not even care...  FF13 will be a mass marketed game.  Core loses.

I do not know about you but I "always" use english dubs and japanese voices.....it just would not be an rpg without that set up.  That is me and I am sure you are the opposite

I want JPN Voice overs... it's how I like like my anime and japanese games... it's how I play naruto UNS and SFIV right now... actually, since the day I got the damn games.
