Forums - Microsoft - Why is Microsoft killing off PC gaming?

MS has other priorities. Simple as that. When MS needs PC gamers again I'm sure they'll throw us a bone.

GoW2 isn't coming because Cliffy B got upset that no-one really cared about the extra Brumak fight in the PC version of GoW. When GoW2 sales slow down I'm sure Cliffy will give PC gamers another chance to show their appreciation (and not buy it).

I'd be suprised if Fable 2 isn't announced this year.

Halo 3, either when Windows Live gets a reboot or when DX11 starts as already stated.

As for any other games, when sales come to a crawl on 360 expect a PC announcement.

Get ready to be surprised, because none of those games are coming to PC. I'm just trying to help you get ready. Do you actually think Microsoft is dumb enough to ruin the value of their current console by continuing to dish out the hottest titles to PC again? :)

So MS are going to stop Lionhead and Epic selling games? My my, I am suprised! Who's next, Valve?

lol @ Megadud from Manhattan. Wonder where you got that from xD

Yeah, it might well be because of Live.

Also licensing fees. MS gets a cut of every 360 game that sells. The same can't be said for games on Windows.

Microsoft owns Lionhead, so yes, they could.

My mistake, I never knew MS bought Lionhead.

But you're all ignoring the point that PC gaming is an incentive for people to use windows :P

That is not even a concern considering most businesses use windows based pc to run their business. Most commercial pc owners use windows regardless of if they game on it or not.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Why is sony killing pc gaming? They aren't releasing their games on pc!? What's the deal with that. ;P

Common sense? Be careful with that, some posters could die off an anaphylactic shock.

Microsoft owns Lionhead, but they don't own Epic. They cannot tell Epic what to do.
