not another sega lamentation...I guess it's impossible to see that sega killed sega just like sony is close to doing to itself. Neither of these companies fell because of competition. I give up on you guys though....can't keep saying the same thing over and over again.

I agree with you as far as Saturn and 32x are concerned. But not the dreamcast. That was a beautiful piece of hardware and everything sega did was perfect. Its just a pity that everyone waited for the ps2 instead.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

And because they waited for the ps2 sony killed sega? Perhaps sega died because of their previous track record? Ever consider that? read my posts to disolitude. i can't keep reiterating.

Know your Dreamcast history before you make claims of what killed the system...

I'm currently in school and sound is not allowed in the library computers so I'll watch these when I get home and report back. i hope the people who made the videos don't have a one-sided agenda like you. If so, the video would be worthwhile and I'll accept my ignorance if it proves me wrong. One thing you should always keep in mind though is that gamers are ultimately the ones who decide what company stays or leaves regardless of their "corporate powers" and most people really don't care about the stuff we're debating.

Its G4TV look at the dreamcast :)

Nothing they say should make the gamer say "oh my god...that evil sony"...but it would explain why Sonic would be laughing. Canuse sony knows his pain now.
In 2009 Sony is releasing great games, offering lots of great features...but is not making money.

Thats where dreamcast was at one point...tis all im saying.

I finally understand your point lol. However, I don't agree with the part of sony being responsible for sega's misfortune but maybe the videos will change my mind. It's great to see G4 is the source. I'll definitely watch these after school.

Pristine is dead on with this one. The Dreamcast was a goner before it ever launched. Sega had managed to perform the three cardinal sins of business before the Dreamcast launched. They destroyed consumer confidence, alienated third party developers, and alienated retailers. I've said so in this thread and I don't feel like regurgitating a recent post. Sega killed Sega. I wasn't and still am not happy about it but Sega did it to themselves.

After reading the game segment I noticed that ps3 is down 9% hardware wise and up 53% software wise so all is not bad in the land of Sony.  The true deal breaker is that sony erickson is very unprofitable, but at the same time I think they may pull a profit even still (very razor thin profit) all things considered.  There movie arm was lower due to the overall superior sales last year from spiderman 3 and the good not great sales of Qantum of solace movie debuts.

The results aren't out yet, you're looking at the holiday quarter results.
