Looks like advent children, and I see plenty of nurb shapes in there...

 


SE is aiming for in game to look like Advent children.

They may be aiming for it, but there is absolutely no chance of achieving AC visuals in realtime on any computing platform right now. It's CG...

EDIT: the last (older) picture that was posted by Apostrovich is in-game. There's a huge difference in the level of complexity if you inspect it closely.

 Not surprising. Pretty much everything at a game show that isn't playable by attendees is fake. Even if the presenter demonstrates gameplay, it's more than likely a scripted demo which would keep on going even if he put down the controller.

 Never trust anything that comes from a gameshow, no matter how much you like the company.

Most of those pictures were already shown "last year", what kind of joke is this? Plus the game looks way too futuristic IMO. What happened to the real FF magic?

I don't know Onna. I miss the Phantasy Star series futuristic take on the RPG genre but that didn't mean I wanted Final Fantasy to take its place. It's part of the reason I have such high hopes for Lost Odyssey, it has that Sakaguchi original style Final Fantasy vibe.

Oh just to prove to you guys that SE is actually screwing with his fans by showing almost the same screens as last year:

Just check the dates when the screens were added and you pick out 3 images from Jeux France, which have already been shown more than a year ago.

@Dark Requim, no me neither. I love Xenosaga as that took place in out of space right from the beginning, but seeing FF changing like that is making me disappointed. I'm disappointed about the fact we don't get to see more... or even worse... old stuff, to find out more about the game.

It's been on this path since FF7.  It's not surprisng.

Heck you can even argue it's been on this path since FF6's Magitek Armor units.  I agree that it doesn't make it any less disapointing though.

I'm honestly tired of CG movies.

This isn't the PS1 anymore.  We're not nearly as limited technology-wise as we were then.  The PS3 is a beast of a machine so I don't understand why Squeenix won't put that beast to work making their game scenes instead of using CG movies. 

CG movies actually make the game look worse in my opinion by making the game look bland in comparison - "This is really awesome.  Too bad the game doesn't look as good."  The PS3 power is there... I hope they use it.
