I would say it is going to be multiplatform. However, part of the problems with its funding were due to relations of the head of Team Bondi (who are not actually part of R*) and Phil Harisson, who is obviously gone now, so maybe things have cleared up and Sony are funding it again...

Anyway, Sony should still have the R* card up their sleeve, as they have announced that they have a new PS3 exclusive IP, but I do fear it might have become vapourware

Yep, going to enjoy GT5 on my gaming rig to say the least. It was confirmed by the internet that the biggest first party franchise Sony has is hitting the PC.

GT5 isn't coming to PC, it is the biggest system seller Sony has, they will never take it off the PlayStation

I would guess multi-plat probably if anything. So to be honest I know litteraly nothing about this game...so anybody got any info? Is it an open world sandbox game like GTA or what?

Why people believe otherwise is baffling...

OT: Well, it was in development on PS3 already, no? For this to happen, they would have to completely drop PS3 development, which isn't likely, though not impossible.

 

 

Sony dropped out over two years ago, at the start of the development. So its quite possible that Rockstar shifted to multiplatform and MS convinced them to drop entirely the PS3 version for $$.

 

What I don't understand is why no announcements have been made about what console it will be released on. If its multiplatform then it would of been announced. The only reason to keep it a secret is if its exclusive.

Maybe I'm half right and Sony bagged the exclusive...

I don't see why they would just drop PS3 development.

that would litteraly never happen. GTA4 sold better on the 360 and considering how much money Take Two is bleading trust me they are in no rush to make GTA exsclusive for anyone.

Rockstar confirms: episodic GTA content 360-only

L.A. Noire developed for next-gen systems

 

A Take-Two spokesperson has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the episodic content planned for Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusively released for the Xbox 360.

Talk of an exclusive deal began following the release of Take-Two's Q2 financial report on Tuesday. The report stated that the episodic content would be released on 360 during the 2008 fiscal year - with no mention of PlayStation 3.

Now a company representative has told GI.biz, "The Grand Theft Auto IV episodic content is exclusive to Xbox 360."

The financial report also stated that fellow Take-Two title LA Noire is due out in fiscal 2008. The spokesperson suggested that both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases are likely, stating, "LA Noire is being developed for next-generation systems."

GTA IV will launch on both consoles on October 19.
