Forums - Gaming - Is it so wrong to hate "casual" games?

Considering Metroid Prime 3 outsold four of the games on your list, i don't quite see what the problem is. The other games you set on the bottom list are generally rather niche

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Don't worry, as soon as someone discovers the new gold, the birdmen will switch over to that. Look at the DS: first only minigames, now it's RPG's. I hope such a thing happens to the Wii soon.

By then this console generation will probably be over.

Hilariously on-topic, that ability is all that's keeping me from going insane in this particular mission!

You are so going to love hard mode.

It's not casual games that will destroy the hardcore gaming market. It's hardcore games costing too much money that they can't make a profit.

As long as there is money to be made... games of a genre will be made.

If there isn't any money they're... you're in trouble.

If it wasn't for the Wii and casual games this generation... just look where profits would be... it would be scary. You'd probably be seeing a lot of articles about how a great 2nd crash was coming.

Yea, you are right, they would be down much...

I'm torn between telling you this is the dumbest argument you've made in this vein and telling you that you need to go play Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

He'll just probably say that Fire Emblem was casualized - and thus, ruined forever- since you can save during a battle.

Hilariously on-topic, that ability is all that's keeping me from going insane in this particular mission!

nonono, you see, he'll come in here, and say that he beat the hard mode of radiant dawn without loosing one person on top of never having saved once through out the entire game because it's too easy.

Just because you suck at games doesn't mean everyone does.

Seems arguments for FE already been made.  Saves time.

They were being sarcastic.  Radiant Dawns normal mode is equal to most FE hard modes.  And it comes with a hard mode as well.

It's likely the second hardest SRPG ever behind Hoshigiami: Ruining Blue Earth.  Where you are out numbered, out leveled and the enemys are grouped so it's impossible to bait.  You practically have to level grind after every level.

Wow you're really hellbent on trolling. Did you read my comment about Punch-Out!!?

How hard game is doesn't matter is it "casual" or "hardcore" in my opinion.
I think games like strategy,JPRG:S,horror, adventure, games where you need to think yourself, how to go forward.

Ofc then boom here comes Brain training.

Like when you need to find certain man, speak to him, he telss you some mystery, you find the mystery and you need to think how to solve it.
Or in story based, where you can just go along with the game without reading the text and boom you need to kill your brother..

The saves make that rather pointless.

To use an example from another game, I can play no-vitas Bioshock on survivor difficulty, as long as I save cleverly at the right moments I could beat the game using only the wrench. Sure I'd probably end up screwed along the way, but the saves mean this doesn't matter.

Such abilties cheapen the entire thing.

YOU

CANNOT

BE SERIOUS

You haven't even played this game get your head out of the clouds

Oi.

What did they say about trolls and feeding them, again? :P

see, the thing is, you post so many things that are the wrong information on here all the time that your credibility is really low so I have no reason to believe you. If the data and information and your knowledge about the things you post are even 90%+ correct, I'd probably say ok, I believe you, but everytime I read something you post, it's like, "wut?" 90% of the time and I generally don't reply, but I will call bull shit when I see bull shit.
