Forums - Gaming - Is it so wrong to hate "casual" games?

Do you even know of the Wii's lineup/library? Because people who say Wii has no games typically don't know.

Urgh, who said Wii has no games?

Yes, yes it is wrong. You are a silly and sad individual.

My girlfriend just got My Sims yesterday and she's absolutely loving it. Infact she just turned it on right now while skyping with her parents. She's also a Cooking Mama and Cake Mania fiend. And let me tell you, Cake Mania is f'ing hardcore! I don't think I could manage the insane multi tasking required if I tried.

Oh yeah, and why are you including Lego Batman?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Many people, in fact :P

I'm just saying most people who say the Wii doesn't have games that they would want don't know of its library/lineup.

proof please?

Is there any point in this kind of hating? Or better: What do you accomplish by hating?
And so what if Carnival games sell a megazillion copies? There is a huge market for those kind of games. And don't worry, the "hardcore" market still exist and won't disappear because of the "casualz".
Plus, (I may be wrong) but Nintendo didn't publish many of those titles so they shouldn't advertise them.

Now, I'm off to write about how I hate FPS games because games like Halo sell better than my beloved Zack & Wiki. Yes, I'm heavily exaggerating and this was stupid...

Look at all the other entertainment mediums out there. They ALL cater to a wide range of consumers tastes. Don't like Britney Spears in your KRS-One, don't listen to her. Don't like Wall-E in your Slumdog Millionaire, don't watch it. Don't like X-Men comics in your John Grisham, don't read them. Don't like Cooking Mama in your Metal Gear Solid, don't play it.

Bitching about it only posits a lower maturity level.

Well yes you can hate it, but we get lot of hate saying something like what I posted, so I'm asking Is it so wrong to hate casual games?

There are only good games and bad games. Wii Fit and Madworld currently have about the same Metacritic rating. IGN gave Lego Batman a 7.7 and No More Heroes a 7.8. Does the fact that some games have more gratuitous violence or a M rating make it better? Casual and Core mean nothing, they are archaic terms that don't belong in this generation of gaming.
