Please watch this video. I can cite 4 times where the devs just HAD to pimp the Cell processor as though Sony PR was right behind their backs. A bit excessive?

Did you want to make your post sound more like trolling? Seriously, you've got every classic sign of a troll up to and including throwing in a quick statement at the end to make it sound like maybe, just maybe, everything isn't all bad. Except for everything else you said, of course.

With that said tEh cEll!!!1111212 praising is getting kind of old though. I mean the folks who made flower praising the cell saying that the "grass" in flower was only possible on it thanks to the cell...seriously...? grass...? Sure it was (very pretty) but still O.o.

Well teh Cell is really that awesome.

Every blade of grass is independently processed. Have you played flower? There are thousands upon thousands blades of grass that sway to the winds' tune, the players' tune and also change colour.
I have no expertise in computing, but it does seem a very taxing task.

And is there a problem with a developer praising something that allowed them to create a game they love?

While it does seem like a trolling post...if you actually watch the video it really is pretty bad. Every second sentence is "the cell is amazing" or "we only could have done it on ps3" type stuff.

As these guys create games exclusive to sony platforms, all theyre actually comparing the ps3 to when they say this stuff is the ps2...

They've never even made a 360 game, so to say this is only possible on the ps3 seems a bit bullshit to me.

Flower is currently my game of the year but still no need to fan-gasm over the cell.

sony fans use to to praise there console while the average output of it is not much more then xbox's cpu, which is then gimped because of there rsx graphics card
