Forums - Sales - Nikkei: Nintendo stock falters

Fans of the Gran Turismo car (gee, anyone have a better mascot for the PS3?) end up doing a dancem, chanting:
* The Wii is DOOOOMED
* Microsoft is losing money and will drop out of the videogame business.
* The entire world will have to come to Sony if it wants to play GAHYMZ!

Around the Network

This actually reads as a fair report about Nintendo's position. It's even informatif. Nice. And i thought this was another doooooomed thread.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

............

What do PS3 fans have to do with a financial report regarding Nintendo?

I was wondering the same thing.

If he wanted to bitch about the article, he could have mentioned that it makes some out-dated points about the Japan market foreshadowing performance in US and EU.  The markets are so different now that this is clearly no longer the case.

Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

The comment just sprung out of nowhere, lol.

It is the financial analysts in Japan who are pushing the old model (the rest of the world follows Japanese sales). The article actually notes it and then reports on Nintendo's reaction.

It is a fair but unfortunate article. Fair as in balanced. Unfortunate in that the stock is essentially tredding water.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

It's also been a long time since Nintendo had a major release.   It'll be interesting (and informing) to see how Punch Out! does.

Interesting and accurate analysis. Hopefully E3 will be good enough for the analysts watching Nintendo and for gamers expecting big game announcements. Time will tell!

true... a lot is true, that is why i firmly believe Nintendo have somethin up there sleeves. They couldn't possibly stay quiet for such a long time.

I think we'll see a big second half in 2009 by nintendo, at least thats what i believe

Nintendo left Excitebots to die out on retail, so you can blame them for that relatively flopping. Maybe if people knew what it was through commercials and saw the Nintendo brand name they would've bought it.

But once again, a team in Nintendo's division that isn't EAD, or something really elite like that, gets no air time (with the exception of Mario spinoffs)

Sometimes it is like they don't even care. But if this was Gamecube time, they'd be in a rush to get things out, and have that little girl whispering "Gamecube" in the commercials. NOA especially is doing nothing it seems. Step it up before you get stepped on.
