Forums - Gaming - Why would anyone do bowling on a PS3 or 360 over the Wii?

Because it's all about the realistic graphics!

Screw going bowling with your friends in real life.

Your hands get greasy!

Hell yeah! At least this way I can bowl a 300.

In real life I would bowl like a 90.

If you bowled as much in real life as you did in video games, maybe you'd do better than 90.

Anyone choosing a console due to the bowling games available on said system has way too much money.

If you want a bowling game amongst other stuff, then we can start discussing, but for a bowling alone? I don't think it happens.

Let's say someone wants a bowling game they can play at home.  I am curious why they would pick a 360 or PS3 over a Wii.  Anyone have an answer?

(Why do I have a feeling this was asked before?  If it was, please post a link to the thread with that question).

And yes you have asked this before, Why not choose the PS3 over the wii? You get similar controls as well as competitive online multiplayer, trophies, in game music, HD visuals, and what else? The again Im not an expert on wii bowling titles, Ive yet to play one, but I am a huge fan of High velocity bowling.

oh come on graphics/physics would be the only reason. The wii has the better interface for this type of game geeez.

Haha, actually the highest I ever bowled outside of videogames was like a 110. Still nothing great but take into consideration that I am a Hockey and Baseball player, not a bowler.

I disagree,  the way you hold the controller for the High Velocity Bowling, closely resembles how you would hold a real bowling ball.

I don't think there are any bowling games on Xbox 360, outside of the minigame inside Grand Theft Auto IV.

Only big difference I find with HvB and Wiisports bowling is that if you want to give the ball rotation in WS you do a quick flick of the wrist in that direction while with HvB you need to hold down the R2 or L2 with the rotation speed dependant on how hard you hold down that button.

Still very easy since your fingers rest on those buttons anyways, but that is really the only big difference. How you actually throw the ball is pretty much the same exact thing.
