It all comes down to software... Nintendo needs to have a really good E3 and second half of '09 or its market share will continue to erode. They can't just rely on WiiFit and Mario Kart for another year.
Wow, if this keeps up Nintendo will be bankrupt next month. Then they"ll have to sell mario to Microsoft. Where he will be forced to work on Windows Mario.

I agree that the Wii threads every week for 0.1% were kinda stupid but they only appeared as the Wii was closing in on 50%, a somewhat significant milestone insofar as some predicted this as the point where 3rd party support would come to the Wii.
What exactly are we celebrating here? Explosive HD console sales in the last week that have wrestled market share back from the Wii? The start of the Wii's inexorable decline back to 40%? Or a mathematical adjustment? I hope you realise that the PS3 and the 360 didn't actually gain the market share this week, they already had it.
Your attempt to present this topic as a driving force for discussion are at best disingenuous unless you sincerely believe that market forces have significantly changed in the last 3 weeks.

Nah he will be forced to play in Mario&Masterchief at the winter olympics
But isn't this kinda funny that Wii almost always loses marketshare to adjustments which would suggest permanent overtracking.

Well, it looks like some people are discussing here... I think.
And of course we are supposed to be celebrating our precious HD-consoles gaining 0.1% marketshare! What else?

Well, I think the casual gamers who want the Wii mostly have them. There aren't any huge Wii games coming right now to entice the more seasoned gamer right now. Wii sales are still pretty high compared to the xbox 360 and ps2. Since the Wii is readily available, there is probably some gamers on the fence waiting for an awesome game to push them over to the buy state. Wii Sports Resort may push many casual gamers who don't have a Wii towards a purchase. It's like a refresh of Wii sports but with more games.

Well, the PS3/Xbox 360's combined lead on the Wii is because for a year, there was no competition. The Xbox 360 sold 5M units before the Wii (or PS3) were released. If you remove them, it is Wii 49M, PS3/XBox 360 47M
It is the same reason the US was so far ahead of Europe for a while after World War II, there was no competition (Europe had to recover from the damage of war while America just had to change over to civilian applications).
