Forums - Sony - PS3's savior to be announced tomorrow?

Damn, this thread grew while I was gone. The only game that I can think of that would have enough power to be dubbed the "megaton" game for Japan would be a FFVII remake. That wouldn't help too much in the other territories, though.

And obviously I was exaggerating with the "saviour" comment. Sheesh. *rolls eyes*

World of Warcraft game on a console would come bundled with a keyboard peripheral, that would be cool.

Yeah it would actually lol.  I was just throwing that out there, but that would be pretty cool if they ever did that.

All the "PS3 Savior" articles are awful. They sound desperate in the sense that they imply "without this, the PS3 is doomed". It's contrived BS as no one game will make or break a console. It is a combination of things... third party support, first party titles, breadth of games, pricing, accessories, and so on...

Agreed 100%.

Just kiss the tip.

Are there that many people willing to spend $600 to play WoW on their TV instead of their computer though? Other than an FFVII remake I doubt most of the ideas floated around here will happen but Naznatips already explained why. I also doubt FFVII would sell many PS3's.

The most interesting thing though is how much money is Sony throwing around trying to save the PS3 these days? I guess we'll find out when they release their earnings statement, that is if they don't follow MS completely and add some non-console sections to their console division providing them with plausible deniability when it comes to the massive losses they're suffering.

PS3 is getting its own personal savior? Isn't that special... could it be... Satan?!?!

Of course not, it will be God, he also created the PSP, haven't you seen the news in South Park.

But if the PSP was created by God, would that mean if South Park would make an episode about the DS, would it would everyone who bought a DS go to hell?

QFT, but I am still interested to find out what the surprise is.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Takes more than one game to win a generation. If that were the case then Super Mario 64 would have won the N64 that generation.
