I totally agree. Luckily they haven't decided to get their dirty paws on Bethesda as well. Although I don't like Bethesda as much as Bioware, they make great WRPG's as well. As long as those two survive, WRPG's will grow and set the bar for what an RPG should be.

 

This may sound like Blasphemy, but I liked Diablo II more than BGII. However I absolutely LOVE NWN. They need to take back the NWN title, and make NWN 3 the way it should be made. Just import the enitre rulest version 4 form D&D into the game and make an epic story line the way they are used to.

WRPGs have already set the bar for what an RPG should be.
JRPGs peaked during the 90s.

We are now in the 3rd Golden Era of WRPGs and it's only going to get better! :D

I don't see how that's Blasphemy at all. Diablo II isn't an RPG at all. It's a hack n slash. I just installed D2 on my new netbook a few days ago(that was a pain). Though I will also be installing BGII and apply the mod that let's you use BG1 and BG2 on the BG2 engine so I can get one massive epic campaign.

While I personally can't stand D20 and D&D in general. I don't mind it that much in computer games. It hides enough that I can ignore it.

While I will be missing FF13 until prices drop I share your sentiments. :)

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I've really enjoyed some PC games, but I've enjoyed console games equally. I'm trying to get into NWN2 until I get my PS3, but it isn't grabbing me like NWN, BGII, and Icewindale I & II.

NWN2 is very weak. 1 was much much better.
