Why would someone have a PS3 (or 360) and NOT have a high def TV? Well, unless someone wins one or it is given as a gift. I know someone without a high def TV that won a 360 as part of a raffle for a charity.

I agree. I couldve bought me a PS3 first day if i wanted to but decided to wait until i had high def tv. And last summer i finally bought me a Samsung 46" A656 TV and the month after i bought me PS3.

So my preview of this demo is on pure high tech shizznit all the way through :D

I dont know, maybe because they cant afford one??  I have tons of friends on my Friends List that do not have HD TVs,  does that make their purchase of a PS3 stupid?   No of course not, they just wanted to play the current gen of games.

Here is a better one,  If you have a HDTV why would anyone want a Wii?  Cause all they should be buying is a 360 or a PS3.

DON'T underestimate the power of the waggle.  The Wii does something different.  Can you honestly say that you get the exact same experience out of a 360 or PS3 then you do out of a Wii?  I am not speaking QUALITY here, I am speaking TYPE.  Does SIXAXIS match perfectly to what you get with the Wii remote?

That is why someone would do it.  They have an HDTV for movies and television.  They want a casual machine to play games on, and aren't a hardcore gamer.  I would be curious if anyone would argue that bowling on the 360 or PS3 is superior to Wii bowling.

Serious question? :-/

Simpel answer: I want to play the games that appeal to me. Couldn't give a rat's ass whether I see 4 more pixels on my screen as long as I can play it and as long as I'm having fun.

From what I've read in this thread, Infamous really looks like Crackdown 1.5 (minus Vehicle Theft and Driving, Guns and Arsenal)

The question is...
Is it better than the magnificent Crackdown?

Can't wait until May 21th!

Dude Crackdown fucking sucked I hope inFamous is nothing like it.

Crapdown was crap, although it may have been better in co-op.

it seemd ok at first but tailed off very quickly

I play both my PS3 and 360 on an SDTV

Not everyone can afford one.

@Max and Axum thanks for your impressions.

For what I can gather from videos, previews and impressions, I think I'd like the game. The karma system, the power level-up system and the whole open world, story-driven missions are all very appealing to me. However, I'm still on the fence until the length of the game is known, as in number of missions, variety, and replay value in general (I think replay value can't be low because of the Karma system, but I'd still like to know how much does that change the game to warrant multiple playthroughs)

Well the demo took me about an hour first play through. I think it is about 30min to an hour to most, pretty lengthy. If that has any bearing on how the real game will be, I estimate 15-20 hours(10 if you just breeze through everything).

I am almost assured this game will have some DLC too. That would be awesome. Imagine if they introducing new villains/characters to fight or interact with?EPIC. I think I might post a full impressions of the demo myself....

The games.

I love Ratchet & Clank and my TV was decent at the time that I bought the PS3. Infamous looks decent on my TV. But there are some games that are hard to play due to my TV like Demon's Souls. So i just simply take my PS3 over to a friends hosue and use his spare monitor to play the game on it. >:D

You should get a 20" LCD monitor with a DVI input. They come for about $200 these days.
