Forums - Sony - SDF Site Actually Run by Anti-Sony People?

For at least a month or two we've known it's just a joke site...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

wow wii60 kids are really sad.

PS3 is that scary ?

Pretty much everyone was at least going "This site has got to be fake!" the last time something got posted.

I would assume most of you Sony fans didn't bother reading our posts when we laughed at the site, and thought we were "bashing" Sony for no reason again.

scary?  I believe it was Sony fans that felt it necessary to make a site called the "Sony Protection Group"...because it clearly needs protecting?

I thought everyone knew SDF was a parody site???!?

Euhm no they didn't especially on this forum.

Don't know about parody, but after calling Lair the new Mario 64 I was like WTF?!?!?!

I remember like a week ago people mocking the site and saying 'omg sony fans are retarded' for giving Lair a 10 and 'new mario 64' title.

And now everyone was in on the joke. Strange, did I miss something?

Well there is no question there are plenty of idiotic teenage fanboy types who post here on vgchartz, but if any regular posters of above-average intelligence whose views should be valued actually believed SDF was anything but a parody site, can you provide evidence (links) to back this up?

Otherwise, yes, you did miss something.  You missed the joke, and it's never fun to be the guy who has to have the joke explained to him.

You do realize that just because someone knows SDF is a joke doesn't mean they're going to post some sort of "I recognize that the aforementioned site is not authentic" disclaimer in any post about SDF, right?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

That's the real irony here. Sony Defense Force may have been a parody, but there really is a Sony Protection Group! And they were the ones being parodied here, and were totally clueless about it until they conducted this investigation. Not only that, but Sony Defense Force is still the top link in the Sony Protection Group link exchange!

If anyone was "owned" here, I think it's obvious it would be the Sony Protection Group / ps3tag folks who were clueless enough to believe SDF was a real site because it so closely parallels their own brainless fanboyism.

wow, why are you all being so harsh to ckmlb. There were a lot of people on this site who thought it was run by sony fans. I dont think it was ever in question that SDF was a joke and pathetic. But now we know it was run by a wii60 fanboy or anti PS3/sony fanboy, this makes it twice as pathetic.

ckmlb: They are just trying to play you. They are trying to save their asses now little too late for that :D

@ sinha )

In other words you support the work of the SDF, right?

The articles/news on the Sony Protection Group site I read are written in neutral tone and not overly exaggerated , so you and BenKenobi88 are basing all your critizism of the site on it's name (I have to add , that I didn't read the forums , but I don't think that is a necessesarity ) ?

And .. I don't know why you are implying ckmlb should feel bad now , if he really "didn't get the joke" , for I think the people who are kidding have to be wary to get their joke across , especially on the internet ,where it's so hard to decide who really is kidding and who isn't.
I think it's a part of the netiquette to say "sorry" in such a situation instead of blaming the one who seriously felt opposed.
