Is your tv 720p?

Supposedly running the game at 1080p increases the framerate drops.

motion controls are fine, not great but playable.

Not great but playable? Sorry to nitpick, but that's the definition of bad controls. Next to gameplay controls are one of the most important aspects of a game. If they aren't spot on, they ruin everything for the game.

There's almost no game with 100 percent spot on controls. Metroid Prime 3 controls have their problems too.

Yeah just like Wii sports may not have the best graphics this generation but neither does MGS4. Great logic there.

I can't really think of another way that they could have done the fire that would have made the game better, otherwise I would agree with the complaint. The levels are just too large and the other enemies too agile to not have some form of homing. Maybe a more integrated fighting system?

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Well, ckmlb, that's exactly why the Wii can't play games as good as the other consoles. The controls don't allow it to.

Is that sarcasm or are you talking out of your arse?

Holy shit.....

I agree with CK, Hus, & Twestern...all in one thread?

CK, what score would you give it if you don't mind my asking? I think I am settled on a 5.8/10 personally. The 4.9 from IGN was a bit harsh.

PS - Yes I have played it, and no I didn't buy a PS3 ...yet =P They have a "Gaming Lab" at my college and I have time between classes to mess around. Don't have a lot of playtime, but was able to confirm that graphics are awesome (if you can look past framerate issues) and controls sucked (but not as bad as reviewers made it out to be).

I think that is a bit exaggerated since the sidestepping while locking on and dealing with multiple targets can get hairy on occasion, but the controls are spectacular nonetheless.  Best ever is a little much, but they are damn good.

Big difference between "Best ever" and "best for FPS on consoles", I honestly can't think of better FPS controls from a console game, but the whole thing is subjective anyways /shrug

I have heard that controls have been patched slightly since the reviews which could explain the fact that many people believe it reviewed worse than it is as far as controls are concerned. Can anyone confirm?

Let me guess. I'm talking out of my ass because it's Nintendo? Or because it sells the most, right? I guess I'm supposed to think that the Wii is invincible because of this, right? The Wii doesn't have the number of buttons needed to play some games, and it's lack of second analog stick really hurts it. The wii-mote really limits what games can be good on the Wii.

The wiimote seems to do just fine, the only games I can think of that wouldn't work with a Wiimote are games made exclusively to take advantage of the exorbinant amount of buttons on other controllers. Even then your argument is purely hypothetical as we've yet to see a properly developed game for the Wii that could have been so much more with just one or two extra buttons. If buttons are really your concern then may I suggest the PC, it comes with a keyboard so you'll be in heaven.
