Halo would make a fantastic movie. It's screenplay and story is better than alot of sci fi movies and series. Halo would be an epic war movie set in sci fi universe, with a decent story to. Peter Jackson would do Halo justice. Gears on the other hand. It would make a great action war film. Like We were soldiers or Black Hawk Down. Both those films have bollocks all to the story, but are great films. I would do it like it's happening right now type thing. The sort of war film where you dont need to know about the aliens, just that they are there. Starship Troopers was great and it had a crap story.

 If they aimed for that level, I think it would be a fun movie to watch.   Tons of CGI, big battles with lots of blood, cheesy dialog and some no name actors.   Only problem is where would they find people that would even come close to the size of those guys.

the 1st mortal kombat movie was good and the tomb raider movies were good, so it has been done before on making a good game into a good movie. gears of war will turn out good, just like the game . why?, simply because cliffy b wont allow it to be crap. and the comment about halo is just a halo hater, because the halo movie can be done its just that fox and universal got cold feet on the proposed $125 million budget for the movie, i bet though after halo:odst releases that the studios will come back to the movie or others will step in when they see that a regular halo game and not a full blown sequel can sell so much.

How many videogame films actually get a big budget, that's often the reason they're a let down. Resident Evil was a videogame movie done pretty well, Doom was an example of a disaster as they messed with the basic premise of the Doom universe being hell on Earth/Mars.

Not it doesn't. God of War came out earlier and is the superior franchise.
