Forums - Website Topics - virus, firefox is not perfect

I've been experiencing this for a short while now. I did used to get the pop up but that's stopped now, probably from ioi turning that off. I do though, still get redirected to their fricking website when i visit this site. It's totally random from what I can tell, but I'm not sure. At first i thought it was a virus/trojan/adware that was on my computer, but after running a few antivirus programs and another few spy/adware programs I still had the problem and noticed that I only got it when visiting VG Chartz.

To add adblock plus in Firefox, you have to go to "tools", "add-ons", and choose adblock. There is a filter you have to "subscribe" to called easylist that will automatically update... I've never been redirected as mentioned... I keep saying this but it has to be coming through an ad feed...

There should be no popups at all from this site at the moment so I can't really see what could be causing the problem...

Must have been (at least one of) the adds. Beginning this week, I had strange things happening with the adds on vgchartz. Sometimes none came up, sometimes they did. From Wednesday on, vgchartz (and it only happend on vgchartz) started to get hijacked by de.diskdoctor.com or de.winantivirus.com _after_ I clicked on one of the discussion threads to read it. What a mess to get rid of that hijacker software! After I added the USA filter file rules to the addblock plus (this hijacking happened with addblocker, but without a filter). Sofar, no more rerouting of the webpage has happend. (Firefox 2.0.0.7 from Switzerland). I cross my fingers....

New bad page for me. It's not drivecleaner, but winantivirus as drkohler speak. It's the same way as drivecleaner. It's the first time for me, that i have winantivirus.

I still get drivecleaner from time to time. No commercial pop ups anymore, thank god, but still those darn pages.

Install PeerGuardian2 which can be found here: http://phoenixlabs.org/

This should help block a few more things...

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

Do you have all the patches and security updates downloaded?

and maybe try Downloading Secretmaker and activating all of the protections

And you might want to think about adding Hijackthis and Spybot Search and Destroy (the tea timer functionality of this program is great)

As I already said, I had the driveCleaner often, but after installing the Addblock Plus, I havn't seen the problem (and the adds).
lol. sounds as a commercial.

Addblock Plus is a Firefox add on and I no longer use Firefox. So if you people can provide me with some helpful links of downloads, from which you shouldn't buy to get full protection like adaware, that would be great.

I actually had a problem about 2 weeks ago that forced me to do some drastic stuff. If memory serves me it was indeed from this site and I assume it was one of the ads. No problems since but reinstalling windows wasnt fun.
