I don't care about the post, I made this cause that guy made this http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=71166
I think that this is actually the second most interesting of those threads, right after the one about GTA IV.
Wait...really?
Actually it hasn't, though the main deterrant to that is the X360s head start.... and just to try spread the word:
TIME SELLS GAMES.
So the longer the consoles have been owned (cumulatively) the more games will be bought.
-----
In shipped terms I believe the Wii games figure was roughly passing the X360 figure at the end of 2008 (though it is hard to tell as there is no hard data for X360 software shipments)
The PS3 at the same time had a little less than half the software shipments that the Wii had.
Which means the two HD systems have [approx) 1.5X the software total of the Wii, some of you may have jumped to the difference in hardware and software ratio, but you should read what I mentioned above about how TIME SELLS GAMES.... ie the X360s headstart is only giving the hardware figures the advantage of exactly the number of months it released prior to the Wii/PS3 but it gives the software figures a much bigger advantage, because those people who bought an X360 before November 2006 are still buying games after November 2006.

Arguing against Wii Sports being the best selling title of all time has some validity, because without it being packed in it would not have sold that many (and would probably be around Wii Fit numbers if we take Japan as a measure for it)
Arguing it is cannot be used as a valid game in people's collections is stupidity, because even if the Nintendo Channel didn't prove it is one of the most played games per person, are you seriously suggesting 40 million Wii Sports owners would not have bought another game insteadof Wii Sports had it not been bundled?
True it will be helping a little, perhaps to the tune of ~5 million or so.... there is no way to tell exactly, but there is certainly no argument for taking away 40 million units of software from the Wii's total.
