Oh... and your sig is all wrong.

Delivering tomorrow. Today. ??

Thats two sentences, the second one being "Today." Shouldnt that first full stop be a comma or a hyphen? Always willing to help the illiterate.

The list comprises Race Pro and Ninja Blade (though maybe there's another I've forgotten; not sure).

And my signature is fine. It's broken that way for emphasis.

I'd also appreciate it if you avoided slinging personal insults in my direction. Take a look at my profile to see which University I attend and then consider whether you should be trying to condescendingly educate me...

OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!

Mate, if you really need to drop things like this into the conversation you're clearly not properly conveying your supposed intelligence.  A great many people on this website are clearly well educated, in a number of cases this is due to attending a prestigious university.  But even at the greatest universities, there are a number of idiots, louts and fools.

Also, across the Western world, the last decade or two has seen a dramatic decrease in the academic lead the more well-known Universities (Oxford in England, Harvard in the States, Sydney in Australia) have over many of the counterparts, to the point that for the most part the broad lead is non-existent.

Now, each country has Universities that are known for prodigious talent in one or two faculties but are as any other in the remaining faculties.

OT:

Come on man, when did this game ever have hype behind it.  I thought it was coming at the end of the year until a week ago.

Ugh I can't believe he said that ... talk about blowing your own horn.

I know huh?

When he went that far I thought I should step in.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

What do you mean what happen? Sucky game got sucky score that's what happen unless you are dense (or trolling, I think it's rather the last part). It's like asking why game like Turning Point or Legendary the Box sucks. Because it was made buy crappy developers.

This game was part of Gamecock line up until they went belly up last year (deservingly so).

Please find something else to troll the 360 please.

You deserve to be disappointed if you expect anything out of a game made by developers with "cock" in their name...

Eww, cringe.

Seece & I were OT until Kowe got the wrong end of the stick and started slinging mud. My point was actually just that Kowe was making a fool of himself by calling me an 'illiterate', but thanks anyway I guess for derailing the thread with that boring lecture on the current state of higher education.

Ultimately, although the 5/10 is an ouch, it never had any hype so it's only a minor thing that will be completely forgotten when MS reveal their Holidays lineup at E3.

Around the Network

I don't recall ANYONE hyping this game. News actually seemed to be pretty quiet in the months before release, if there was ever a bad sign.

Now some may have been hoping for a sleeper hit among a certain niche, so that's disappointing, but mainly because there really weren't any solid games this month for the Xbox (or the PS3 for that matter).

Too bad, the concept is really good.

XBL: WiiVault Wii: PM me  PSN: WiiVault

PC: AMD Athlon II Quadcore 635 (OC to 4.0ghz) , ATI Radeon 5770 1GB (x2)

MacBook Pro C2D 2.8ghz, 9600m GT 512 iMac: C2D 2.0, X2600XT 256

I'm gonna call it the 360 curse...

Add to the list of mediocre reviewed 360 game released this year...

When it became clear they were cancelling work on a PS3 version due to money issues it was pretty obvious it had a good chance of sucking. Most games where the money forces those kind of decisions don't do well.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sigh... who cares.

PS3 had HAZE and LAIR, both of which were super-hyped, neither of which impressed, perhaps VA is one for the 360 except that it wasn't super-hyped.

A particular console has no control over the final level of fun in a game: the publisher pays for the development, it is either good or bad... or OK.

If a game's not fun, the publisher takes a look to see if it can be made better in any way which will markedly increase sales at a reasonable cost. Then they take a look at how long its been in production, their confidence with the dev's ability to deliver on time, the cost of keeping the studio working on the title for another X months, whether the developer even really *gets* why the game isn't working and has a solid plan to correct it, etc...

Then... they make a decision. Cut our loses, release it as is and make back what we can, or sink more cash into it (we're talking millions here) and make it the best it can be (which still might be mediocre). THIS is a case where marketing can make a difference (not the ridiculous Halo 3 example in another thread)

There's no 360 curse (original post sarcasm was noted btw). Holiday 08 was a big one for the 360, so it's hardly surprising that after that push there is some breathing time while the next push is planned out.

...and even with a current lack of 360 console exclusives (sic), 360 continues to sell well, consistently increasing its lead over its nearest competitor. No reason to panic, certainly not one game which (contrary to some suggestions) wasn't expected to do *particuarly* well in the first place.
