God of War 3

I don't, but it seems like quite a few people think so. I expect at BEST a spike of 25K over the previous week sales... AT BEST. I see some people saying that SONY needs a game like GoW3 to get sales back on track...

i agree with you but i think it might be a bit higher than 25K but none the less GOW3 will be just like all the other recently released AAA games. Sell great but move little hardware

But by the time it comes out (if it ever does) people may want to replace old 360s for the new game.

Very few. I don't see GoW being a series that people would spend 400+ dollars on just to play.

i dont think gears of war will move many ps3s isn't a xbox exclusive?

Well what is the bar for "system seller"? I know people whom purchased a PS3 for GOW III therefore I would call it a system seller. Game should sell devently though, my guess is easily 3 million.

A system seller should be a game that has a statistically significant effect on sales. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto 4 have been the prime examples of this this generation.

Possibly also Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit, though the Wii sales were a bit too whacky around release to say with any certainty.

As such, I believe that God of War 3 will be able to produce a small uplift in sales, but an uplift that could be lost in the noise.
