Forums - Gaming - Why is there damage in Forza but not GT?

cause polyphony digital is too lazy to do anything more than bumping up graphics? seriously this saries didn't change much or at all since psx era so what do you expect?

Yeah, thank god that Halo and GeOW were the revolutionary sequels....

@ seece: indeed, as I've said in this thread: there needs to be a drawback to being the bumpercar-dude in races... It's annoying as hell to lose races because you stick to the track :-/

lol at no damage.

If GT5 gets damage I'll get it, but if it doesn't there's no way I buy it.

You cannot play GT5 on 360 buddy, duhhhhh.

It's pretty obvious 99% of the people saying "no damage no purchase" had no intention of purchasing the game from the start. Pretty darn pathetic it must be said. :(

sorry i  did not use punctuation did not realized you could not form pauses in thought without them ill remember that for future reference and continue to avoid them when talking to you, perhaps I will use red letter or small caps  en-dashes are also acceptable hmm or maybe I can just do it up in illustrator Ive been needing an excuse to drag it back out its been awhile since Ive done design work as my current job focuses more on project management then what i got hired for

see ya latter i think im going to work on a chart of typographic ways excluding punctuation to stylistically show rhythm and starts and stops in grammatical structures that are not violations of accepted protocols

if u remeber the damage in forza was rubbish.

even if you hit a wall at 150mph all that happens in a scraped bumper that slightly tries to fall off.

damage is gt5 will be coming but i hope its realistic and not like forza`s

that just prove that u have NEVER played Forza 2,  or u just a blind fanboy, which one?

Well, your question was already answered, so I'll just add that I hope they do make damage, but make it so it can be turned off.

I certainly don't have the driving skills for completing a full race with damage turned on, but I would love to try it and get better. But if I couldn't play without it, I think I would get way too annoyed to play it really quickly...

I've played it, and its unrealistic. I slammed into another car in Forza at around 120mph (the car was slowing toward a turn) The car substains damage, but I could still drive, in fact, the car I slammed into, drove off like nothing happened. It was able to maintain the same speed throughout. Is that realistic?

I'll ask you this, have YOU played Forza 2?

GamerTag/PSN ID JoshmyersBV (please add me I have 2 friends on Xbox Live)

How people drive the cars in the game isn't based on damage or no damage.

Even if there was realistic damage you don't think people would just bump other cars just for the heck of it because damage is so cool?

If people who plays the game don't have the skill to control a car in a (semi-)driving sim. They will hit you no matter there's damage or not.

If they race like how it should be, they will avoid to hit you no matter damage or not.

I know so many people claiming GT games are hard because the cars are hard to control. Most of them didn't even think that you need to brake before a turn. (experience from NFS, burnout, etc)  With those people playing, damage or not, they will still hit you.

With realistic damage, not only his car will be totalled, so would yours, and you would be even more frustrated because some asshat hit you and you are out of the race.
